Results and Discussion

This chapter discusses the results of a study on a web-based dental clinic management system. The system allows for real-time patient information access and record keeping. It has two user levels and various modules. The project structure and features are shown through 22 figures in the document. A test of the system showed it passed expectations for functionality. The system has capabilities like record management but also limitations like only running on Windows and not including payments. It was evaluated and found to meet needs for the dental clinic.

RESULTS AND DISCUSSION

This chapter discusses the results of the study and states the project and

structure, project capabilities and limitations, and project evaluation.

Project Description

The Management System of Guiban Dental Clinic in Molino Bacoor,

Cavite is a web-based system used to provide access to real-time information

and keep dental patient records including its personal information, informed

consent, dental record chart and treatment record. The system was designed to

lessen the workload of the dentist and secretary in recording patient information

and managing patient appointments.

The system has two user levels. The admin and the patient: Admin can be

the dentist or the dental staff whereas they have the access thru the all modules

of the system, while the patient could only manage the system in limited manner.

The online catalogue and limited modules which includes their appointment

history, their personal information, medical history and book appointment. In case

the user forgot their password they can input the code sent to their respective

emails and it will let them change their passwords.

The system also has content management module which the admin can

customize the content of the website based on their likings. They can manage

the announcements, story, logo, gallery, feedback and their team. It generates

reports within the range set. It also has printable forms where the user was able

to print dental certificates, contracts and patient records if needed.

Project Structure

The project structure consists of detailed graphical user interface

(GUI) with descriptions of major components and system feature.

Project Capabilities and Limitations

The following are the capabilities of the project:

1. The system can execute the functions it requires.

2. The system has security to avoid system’s vulnerability.

3. The can add, update, search records.

4. The system can add or change procedures depend to the users wants.

5. The system can back up data from the system.

The following are the limitations of the study:

1. The system is only executable in Microsoft Windows Operating System

(Windows 7 and higher) platform.

2. The study is only a stand-alone system.

3. The system doesn’t have an inventory of the clinics stocks and

materials.

4. The system doesn’t include the payment process like printing receipts.

Project Evaluation

The system was subjected to run in series of tests to check its

functionality, reliability, usability, efficiency, maintainability and portability. It was

implemented at JPF Dental Clinic in Gahak Kawit Cavite and it was evaluated by

10 information technology experts, the clinic dentist and the dental secretary who

was the user of the system to check its overall performance.
