DRRR (Quarter 1 - Module 3) - Cantre

The document provides information about natural disasters: - It lists primary, secondary, and tertiary effects of natural disasters such as earthquakes, typhoons, and landslides including physical injuries, infrastructure damage, flooding, and long-term impacts. - Two scenarios are presented - one discussing estimated agricultural damage and economic losses from recent typhoons, and another expressing fears over potential death, property loss, and health issues from an impending disaster. - In reflection, the learner notes disasters can cause injury, illness, resource loss, and migration, and asks how they affect the economy.

DO THIS!
PICTURE ME OUT!

1. Agricultural damage from typhoons has exceeded P12 billion this year, topping P8 billion in
2019. Meanwhile, state economists estimate that total damage will be around P90 billion, or
0.15 percent of the country's GDP.
2. I am in danger of death or bodily harm. I'm also worried about losing our house, belongings,
and community. Stressors like this put people at risk for mental and physical health issues.

REFLECT!

I have learned that natural disasters cause destruction of property, loss of financial resources, and
personal injury or illness. The loss of resources, security and access to shelter
can lead to massive population migrations in lesser-developed countries.

I wish to ask my teacher about why do disasters affect the economy?
