BACKGROUND OF THE STUDY

Bullying in schools is a real problem. By sending one’s children to school, one lays the

foundation for their life. Bullying is a harmful external factor that sets the stage for permanent

damage which will ultimately have a lasting, negative effect on the child’s life, reaching beyond

puberty, to adulthood. Bullying may be physical or psychological, which in turn means that it is

much more complex than mere playground pushing and shoving.


Bullying is unwanted, aggressive behavior among school aged children that involves a real

or perceived power imbalance. The behavior is repeated, or has the potential to be repeated, over

time. Bullying includes actions such as making threats, spreading rumors, attacking someone

physically or verbally, and excluding someone from a group on purpose (Brookshire, 2015).

Bullying is one of the problems that the society is facing today. Although the government

sector implemented laws against bullying but still, the cases of bullying getting higher. There are

kinds of bullying but the researches will focus in school bullying because most of the time

children are in school.

STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM

This study focused on the cases of bullying on the students. The research study sought to

answer the following questions:

1. What are the causes of bullying on the students?

2. What are the effects of bullying on the student?

3. What are the solutions to prevent bullying on the students?
