NO: 03 pate; 2\\ 2022 LE CYLINDER FOUR STROKE DIESEL PERFORMANCE TEST ON SINGI .MOMETER ENGINE COUPLED WITH HYDRAULIC DYNAl eeEE——————————EEEeEeEeEeeerrssts— AIM ‘To conduct performance test on the given single cylinder 4siroke diesel engine and 10 draw the following characteristic curves: ‘Specific Fuel Consumption Vs Brake Power Mechanical Efficiency Vs Brake Power Brake Thermal Efficiency Vs Brake Power Indicated Thermal Efficiency Vs Brake Power ENGINE DETAILS Type + Single eylinder four stroke Diesel engine coupled with hydraulic dynamometer. Rated Power SHPG.7EW) Rated Speed +1500 rpm Orifice diameter 220mm Coefficient of discharge 10.62 Dynamometer arm length radius: 310mm DESCRIPTION ‘This experimental setup consists of i) four stroke single cylinder Diesel engine coupled with hydraulic dynamometer, i) fuel measuring asrangement, i) 3 intake engine coepiPystem and iv) the exhaust temperature measurement system. The fuel soeaeuing system consists of a fuel tank, burete and suitable cock are collectively mounted aa panel board. Air intake measurement system consists ofan air tank along wih an once plate and manometer. The panel board consist of thermocouples to measure the temperatures erexhaust gas, inlet and outlet of cooling waters through appropriate pocket connections. The et eig has band start arrangement and manual throttling system. The load is being applied on ‘which has been connected to a flywheel of the engine the hydraulic casing, FORMULAE a) Maximum Load Calculation Tmax Woar = X9.01 Where, Wax = Maximum Load (kgf) 7 BP aatea 60000 max concent Where, Tmax = Maximum Torque BPpatea = Rated Brake Power (3.7 KW) N= Rated Speed (1500 rpm) R = Dynamometer arm length radius (0.31 m) 16 ‘St. Joseph's College of Engineering Scanned with CamScannerME 8512/Thermal Engineering Laboratory Mechanical Engineering 2020-2021 TABULAR COLUMN: ‘Time for i ss Brake Indicated i ae 10ce of Fuel co Fuel a Lim ae bbs oe ema pet ‘Tard | toned ier SNo. ing | Consumption | Comsumption | Power | Consumption | Power | Power | Input | ecieney | eticieney | "™eney w t FC BP SFC FP iP HI Np 1 Neck Units keh : kg mW | _kgkwah | ew [ew % % % 1] 0 TTT | 0-3q7 | © 0 Oe | O*8 Jus] o 20 2) 2 2 56-14 osus joas} ostt | og | it | os] 2e6 | att | oy 3. yy urs 0-123 tur] 0-378 Oe po a3 | 23-57 33-2 | 10.5 4. > srxe | De jase} osm [oe | He a2 | 257 | sec | m4 5. 6 Bas O-%2 | 2Ke] 0-336 | OR | BG {tos | 264 33-3 | We.
