Motorola Solutions first established its supply chain operations in Penang, Malaysia in 1974
followed by the R&D operations in 1976. Today, Motorola Solutions Malaysia’s fully integrated
R&D center is responsible in conceptualizing, designing, developing and launching of leading-
edge mission critical communications solutions and services that enable first responders and
public safety agencies to be their best in the moments that matter. The R&D operations,
complimented by the Supply Chain functions (Regional Supply Planning, Regional Logistics,
Global Procurement, Global Purchasing, Global Sourcing, Order Management and New Product
Introduction), Finance Shared Service as well as the Global Regulatory and Reliability Operations
Center of Excellence, is the largest integrated operation in Motorola Solutions. Motorola

Solutions Malaysia’s corporate office in Kuala Lumpur houses the country sales and marketing,
support services, legal, public and government affairs, and project and deployment teams for
Malaysia customers. Since its establishment, Motorola Solutions have invested over US$1 billion
in Malaysia and have grown from a team of 10 staff to a 1800-strong workforce.

Founded in 1928, Motorola has a history of innovation that has revolutionized communications.
From pioneering mobile communications in the 1930s and making equipment that carried the
first words from the moon in 1969, to supporting modern-day emergency response equipment

Motorola Desciption

Motorola Solutions, Inc. is a provider of communication infrastructure, devices, accessories,


software and services. The Company operates through two segments: Products and Services. Its
Products segment offers a portfolio of infrastructure, devices, accessories and software. The
Products segment has two product lines, including Devices and Systems. Its Devices includes
two-way portable radios and vehicle-mounted radios; accessories, such as speaker
microphones, batteries, earpieces, headsets, carry cases and cables, and software features and
upgrades. Its Systems includes the radio network core and central processing software; base
stations; consoles; repeaters, and software applications and features. Its Services segment
provides a range of service offerings for government, public safety and commercial
communication networks. The Services segment product lines include Integration services,
