II. Course Description:

This course is designed to provide the student with an introduction to computers and
information processing for students desiring to learn what a computer is, how a computer
functions, how a computer is controlled, and how computers are applied to the solution of
business and related problems in modern society. Extensive hands-on learning of the
Windows environment, MS Word, MS Excel and MS PowerPoint will be employed in this
course.

III. Course Objectives:

A. General Objectives:

At the end of the course, the students will be able to learn the fundamental
organization of computer system; operate the computer; know the different uses of
computer and application software correctly.

B. Specific Objectives:
Specifically, the student will be able to:

Cognitive
1. Define, identify and apply the different jargons used in the computer systems.
2. Define practical and theoretical aspects of the uses and designs of computers.
3. Presents the organization of the three resources of computer system:
Hardware, software and peopleware.
4. Define the operations of the computer system.
5. Identify the uses and limitations of computer system.
6. Identify the components of and perform task in the Windows environment
Psychomotor
1. Explain what a computer based information by focusing on hardware, software
and peopleware.
2. Manipulate the different parts of the computer.
3. Integrate correct usage of computer applications.
4. Apply the different Microsoft Office application softwares.

Affective
1. Show perseverance in learning computer.
2. Show interest and enthusiasm in acquiring knowledge in computer.
3. Appreciate the importance of Number Systems used in computers.
4. Respond positively to the use of different application tools in presentations.
5. Work independently and cooperatively.
