CONCEPT NOTE Template for RESET Plus

Innovation Fund application


Concept notes should be a maximum of 5 pages (excluding
the contact details in Template 2). Applications exceeding this
limit will be excluded. All the sections need to be filled
carefully and with all relevant information. Please fill in
responses below each question, and you may delete the
guiding text in red.

Template 1. Contents of the Concept note

1. Please describe the specific problem that the proposed social innovation aims to address.
How will the proposed innovation contribute to resilience?; How is the project linked to the
objectives/sectors/themes/specific priorities of the fund? - (recommended ½ page)

2. Description of the proposed innovation; (recommended 1 ½ pages)


● Project title
● The overall and specific objectives
● Intended results (outputs, outcomes) and impacts
● How will the above be achieved (your proposed activities)
● Risks and assumptions
● Duration of the project
● Geographical areas of implementation

3. Describe how the proposed innovation is suitable/applicable to the targeted areas, who are
the direct and indirect beneficiaries of the proposed innovation and how will they participate
in the implementation of the innovation. Please make specific reference to youth and
gender issues. (recommended max ½ page)

4. How is the proposed innovation linked/aligned with the existing government policies,
strategies, plans, and programs such as PSNP or RESET? (recommended max ½ page)

5. What is the innovative element of the proposed project? How can the innovation be scaled
up / replicated / institutionalised after it is tested? If it was tested already, what stage is it in
now? What are the next steps? (recommended max ½ page)

6. Please describe your capacity to implement the innovation; human resources with
expertise, logistic and/or other administrative capacities, prior experience (track record),
presence in the targeted areas and relationships with the beneficiary communities and
relevant stakeholders etc. (recommended max ½ page)

7. Who will be your key partners, what is your relationships and/or history of cooperation and
what is the experience and contribution they bring to this application? (recommended max
½ page)

8. Describe how the proposed project addresses the environmental issues of the target areas
(recommended one paragraph)
9. Budget Summary (only major budget lines/headings should be included) (max ¼
page)

Remark:
The concept note should not exceed 5 pages and any concept notes beyond this page limit will be
excluded. Moreover, the concept notes should be presented in font type Arial, document margins
min 2.00 cm for all sides, font size min 10, line-spacing single and the text align justify. These all
should be strictly followed; any inconsistency will lead to rejections.

All submitted concept notes must be in .doc, .docx or .pdf format.
