Ways to Strengthen Spiritual Life
Nurturing and developing spirituality is essential especially in this world that increasingly
leaning toward materialism and secularism. To intensify our spiritual life, we have decided to
have group spiritual meditation every friday. This activity is comprised of hearing and
contemplating on the Word of the Lord on that specific date plus having open forum regarding
the message or personal experiences that can be connected to one’s faith. Having this shared
intention, we are able to turn our full attention toward the Light that is within us;regaining our
relationship with God and brothers and sisters.
One Act of Random Kindness
People who are kind are happy to share with others. Our group agreed that we will be
sharing the blessings to the people in need. We will be sharing food with the school staff for us
to return the favor in serving and securing our safety. Our action seems to be ordinary but the
thing is that we are sharing something that comes from the heart. We became one of the
descendants of God, serving as a blessing through providing their simple needs. Sharing with
people will make you more generous and thus, more inclined towards kindness.
Group Intensification Activity
As the saying goes, there is no ‘I’ in TEAM. This just shows that in a group, no one is
special rather, it is the togetherness of individuals forming a new image that would describe
themselves as a whole. In a group, there would always be an element that would stand out and
that is the connection of all the members to one another. As a means to form a greater bond,
the group, Descendants, would lead a meaningful life as Christians together, reflecting and
sharing life experiences, all of which are based on the Word of God. With this, the group has
opted to use Bo Sanchez’ “Didache”. Didache is a Greek word for teaching and is a Catholic
daily Bible reflection guide written by ordinary people who seeks to live out the Gospel in their
everyday life. Along with the help of the Didache activity every morning, a member could share
one’s realization that would enlighten minds and move hearts. Furthermore, this activity will help
the group to be more familiar with the members, for understanding to take place and eventually,
for trust to flow from one soul to another.
