I. OBJECTIVES

The kindergarten pupils are expected to:

Cognitive:
 Identify the time/current time using the clock or watch and the time of
the day.
 Tell time by hour (MKME-00-7)
 Tell the time of the day when activities are being done, e.g., morning, afternoon, night
(MKME-00-3)

Psychomotor:
 Draw an hour hand and a minute hand using the given time.
 Making clock individually.
Recognize and name the hour and minute hands in a clock (MKME-00-6)

Affective:
 Appreciate the usefulness of the clock and its importance in our lives.
Recognize that the clock tells time (MKME-00-5)

IV. LESSON PROCEDURE

A. Motivation

The teacher will going to sing “Telling Time” and then the pupils will follow
their teacher.

The teacher will tell the pupils to join with her and altogether they will count,
first, 1 to 12. Then after, they will do skip counting by 5 up to 60.

B. Presentation

The teacher will tell the pupils that the lesson that they are going to discuss is
about the clock and also the time of the day.

C. Discussion

1. Review on counting 1-2 and skip counting by 5 up to 60

2. The teacher will discuss about the parts of the clock and its importance.

3. The teacher will discuss to the pupils about the time using o’clock, e.g., 1:00.

4. The teacher will discuss to the pupils about the time using fifteen, thirty and
forty-five, e.g., 1:15, 1:30, and 1:45.

5. Now, the pupils have a basic grasp on numbers and telling time, introduce time
related vocabulary such as those listed below:
 Morning
 Afternoon
 Night/Evening
 Midnight

The teacher will tell the pupils that morning (AM) is after midnight (AM) 1:00
-12:00; afternoon (PM) is 12:00 – 6:00; evening/night (PM) is 7:00 – 12:00
and repeat.

D. Application

A. Hour and Minute Hand Labeling


The teacher will present an activity where pupils will be asked to come to the
front. The teacher pastes an illustration of a clock face on the board without any
hand drawn in it. The pupils will going to draw a short and long hand on the clock
base on the given time.

Example: Given time is 4:00 PM

B. Schedule
The teacher will present an activity where pupils will be asked to come to the
front. The teacher pastes an illustration of the class schedule on the board.

F. Assignment

1. Clock Face with Hands


Instructions:
Draw on your own a clock face with hands. Write beside it the time. Write all
of this in a one half crosswise bondpaper.

2. Movie Time
Instructions:
Watch a movie you like the most. Draw a poster about the movie you watch
on the left side (Poster Design). Then, draw the hands on the clock on what time you
have started. Below the clock face, write the time numerically. Then, on the digital
time, think on your own time, it must be two, and write it below as 1 and 2. Lastly,
draw the hands on the clock face indicating the time you write in the digital time.
Don’t forget to write your name and the title of the movie you watch. Have a peaceful
weekend pupils!
