1. Installation
1.1 Download
SerDia2010 is downloadable from http://serdia.deutz.com/

At the moment Serdia2010-Download has a volume of 1GB and the


license-file is about 5Mbytes.

1.2 Minimum Requirements for SerDia2010

1.2.1 Personal Computer (PC)


PC: Windows XP: 2.4 GHz and 2GB RAM
Windows 7: 2.4 GHz and 4GB RAM
Windows 8 and 10: 2.4 GHz and 6 GB RAM
About 2GByte free disk space,
Screen min. 1024x768 pixel,
One free USB-Port (2.0/3.0)

OS: MS-Windows XP SP3, VISTA, Windows 7 (64bit or 32 bit), Windows 8,


Windows 10
Admin-Rights during Installation
New SerDia-Path: C:\Deutz\SerDia\.......
Full access after installation for following directories
C:\DEUTZ\*.* ; C:\Programme\DEUTZ\*.* ; C:\Programme\samtec\*.* ;
C:\Programme\Sontheim \*.*

1.2.2 Interface
DECOM Interface or existing HS-Light
Supplier for DECOM with license is your local DEUTZ dealer

1.2.3 Software & License


For each Interface you will need a SerDia2010-License, which must be
purchased at your local DEUTZ dealer.
(Old SerDia2000 will work as usual with HS-Light.)

After install you will be able to start a trial version of SerDia2010. Within 2 weeks you
must download a new license-file and put it into your installation. If you do not so
SerDia2010 will not work any longer, after this period.

License-Files are not downwards-compatible.

1.2.4 Engine Application:


SerDia2010 supports DEUTZ-TIER4-engines with ECU-Type EMR4 and Tier3 and
Tier2 engines with EMR3 and EMR2 ECUs.

2 Copy Exe-File on your Harddisk

2.1 execute File (unpacking)


Choose a place on your harddisk, where the installfiles can be copied to and click "extract"-
button.

2.2 Start "setup.exe" to install SerDia2010


Please, do not plugin the interface yet.
You need ADMIN-Rights for installation.

Choose your for installation. (Serdia2010 language has to be setted later after starting
Serdia2010)

To fix all registry entries, reboot your computer please.

Meanwhile you may see higher values of version-numbers.

3 How to check Interface connection


HS-Light

Right Mouseclick on "yellow"-Tray-Icon and click Menu "about"

How to activate the HS-Light Interface


When your PC has got another SerDia2000-Installation, then you will have now two
Configuration-Center for the HS.Light-Interface.

SerDia2000 & SerDia2010 &


HS-Light- HS-Light-
Interface Interface
For SerDia2000 choose Configuration Center and for SerDia2010 choose SamPDU
ConfigurationCenter.
Click Find VCI (Vehicle Communication Interface). If the interface is detected, then click Save-
Button and Close the Window, please.

Start diagnosis software "SerDia2010"


Pages may vary from release to release
Connect your Interface to the EDC17-ECU and double-click on the Desktop-ICON.

Starting Page with connected ECU and well known ECU-Software

If ECU is shut off or ECU-Firmware is not implemented, the diagnosis software is not able to
log into the connected ECU. Nevertheless you are able to flash the ECU.

4 Uninstall
Sometimes it is necessary to clean the directory and delete the Serdia-Installation completely
before a new Serdia-Installation is started. The following steps must be fulfilled.
