I. OBJECTIVES

At the end of the lesson the students should be able to:

1. identify the kitchen utensils and their uses; and


2. use the kitchen utensils properly through demonstration.

II. SUBJECT MATTER

Title: Kitchen Utensils that commonly found in Kitchen

References: Learning Module in Commercial Cooking

Materials: Projector, Laptop, Ingredients and Kitchen Utensils for demonstration

B. Recap of the previous lesson

C. Motivation
Before we proceed on our discussion
let’s have a game first. The title of our
game is pinoy henyo. Have you ever
played pinoy henyo?

A group is composed of 2 members: Yes Ma’am


one as the guesser and the other
one who is only allowed to respond
to the guesser’s question with a yes, no
or maybe. Time limit is 2 minutes,
the timer starts when the word is
revealed. The timer stops when the
group guesses the answer. The
computed end time will be the
final result. The group with the
shortest time wins.

APPLICATION
Activity: The teacher will instruct
the students to form 3 groups and
pick pieces of paper with names of kitchen
utensils. Then, afterwards the
teacher will ask the students to prepare
for demonstrating the uses of
kitchen utensils. Each group will be
given three minutes to prepare for the
demonstration. The teacher will demonstrate
first the uses of kitchen utensils then
afterwards a representative of
each group will be demonstrating in front
of the class.

Class before we start our demonstration


always remember that in preparing food it’s
important to wash your hands before
anything
else and of course it is important also to
wear the proper cooking outfit, the hairnet,
apron and plastic gloves.

The first kitchen utensil that I will going


demonstrate the use is the chopping board

Chopping board is we commonly used


in cutting ingredients when cooking. There
are different types of chopping board
that we use in chopping vegetables, meat
and etc. I will slice here an onion using the
chopping board.
Next are the measuring cups.

We actually used measuring cups to measure


ingredients when cooking especially
dry ingredients like this flour I will measure
an one cup of flour.

Lastly, the kitchen knife.

Class always remember that don’t wave
your hands while you are holding the
knife and don’t play with the knife
of course. So now I will slice some carrots
here to show you the proper use of knife.
