The Hare and The Tortoise: Put The Verbs in The Simple Past To Complete The Story

The hare and tortoise lived in the forest with other animals. The hare would dash around and brag about how fast he could run, making fun of the slow tortoise. One day, the tortoise challenges the hare to a race. Though the hare easily pulls ahead at first, he stops to take a nap, allowing the tortoise to steadily make his way to the finish line and win the race. The hare learns his lesson about not being arrogant or making fun of others, and he and the tortoise become good friends.
