Position Summary
Plan inventory, issue manufacturing orders and coordinate the flow of work and materials to meet delivery expectations of
forecasted and actual sales. Interact with suppliers to reduce cost through various means including price negotiation,
competitive bidding and securing favorable terms. Work with production, purchasing, finance and the warehouse to
develop efficient supply chain strategies that optimize inventory and production throughput based on demand. Requires a
high degree of analytical capability with a combination of strategic and tactical skill to balance complex relationships
between inventory, capacity, lot size, lead-time and demand.
Primary Responsibilities

Run material requirements (MRP) workflows to generate planned orders for the production schedule
Define and implement MRP rules to optimize inventory and maximize production throughput
Prepare and distribute manufacturing work orders and material pick lists to production
Coordinate material movement between vendors, warehouse and the production floor
Establish new metrics and perform audits to confirm that suppliers are achieving material objectives
Identify and reconcile shortages and engineering changes that will have an impact on production plans
Analyze inventory and work in progress to determine how to increase turns, reduce waste and improve service
Participate in long range capacity planning and recommend expansions as needed based on demand analysis
Support new product introductions and product end of life programs

Knowledge and Skill Requirements

Experience negotiating with suppliers to secure favorable pricing, terms and delivery
ERP system knowledge with Microsoft Dynamics GP experience preferred
Knowledge of SQL or other database, ability to understand ERP system data table relationships
Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting abilities to resolve discrepancies in ERP data and processes
Advanced Microsoft Excel experience using complex formulas and data connection queries
Associates or Bachelors Degree in a related field
Understanding of lean material flow principles

Additional Requirements

Ability to work with Production, Engineering and cross-functional teams in a professional manner
Ability to self-manage and deliver multiple responsibilities concurrently
Consistent, detail oriented and highly organized
Excellent verbal and oral communication skills
Ability to work flexible hours when required
Performs other duties as assigned
