The How-to Guide to Data on References/Bibliography MyJurnal / MyCITE STYLE

The following MyJurnal referencing and bibliography style is based on the General International Standard Bibliographic Description required by most professional bodies and publishers. FOR A BOOK JOURNAL Journal articles submitted to MyJurnal should include the following information in the order shown. 1. name/s of author/s of the article. Start with the family name, and leave a space between comma and the first initial. No space between the period following the initials: e.g. Zainab, A.N. For full Malay names enter direct. e.g. Raja Abdullah Raja Yaacob (remove bin or binti) In the case of multiple authors, semi colon goes between each name; and comes before the last name e.g. Abrizah, A.; Zainab, A.N.; Kiran, K. and Edzan, N.N. Provide the names of all authors, even if there are more than six authors, Do not use et al after the name of the sixth author. Et al. will be displayed in MyCITE only. 2. date of publication include the year only, without parentheses ( ) 3. title of article - Capitalise the first word, and proper nouns only. Lowercase all nouns, pronouns, adjectives, verbs, adverbs, and subordinating conjunctions, articles, coordinating conjunctions, and prepositions, regardless of length e.g. The digital library as an enterprise: the Zachman approach Translated title (in English) is provided for articles written in Malay. 4. title of periodical italicised; can be abbreviated. Journal titles are abbreviated according to the abbreviation indicated in the journals barcode no. 5. volume number - use uppercase for Vol. 6. issue (or part) number use lowercase for no. 7. page number(s) enter direct after a colon

8. ISSN - Enter direct the eight-digit number 9. Abstract Provide the abstract as presented in the article. Translated abstract (in English) is provided for articles written in Malay. 10. References Provide the references as they appeared in the reference list. Each reference must be separated by a period. 11. Affliation of author/s of the article Provide a two level heading for affliation. Provide the name of parent institution (choose from a list provided in MyJurnal) e.g. University of Malaya. Provide the English name of the second level institution, e.g. Faculty of Computer Science & Information Technology (use for Fakulti Sains Komputer & Teknologi Maklumat) 12. Resource Identifer: Provide the location (URL) to the electronic version of the article. 13. Subject: Provide the subject area using the following list: Agricultural and biological sciences Arts and Humanities Anthropology Biochemistry, Genetics and Molecular Biology Business, Management and Accounting Chemical Engineering Chemistry Computer Science Decision Sciences Dentistry Earth and Planetary Sciences Economics, Econometrics and Finance Education & Educational research Energy Engineering Environmental Science Health Professions History Immunology and Microbiology Language, Linguistics Law Library and Information Science Materials Science Mathematics Medicine Multidisciplinary Neuroscience Nursing Pharmacology, Toxicology and Pharmaceutics Physics and Astronomy Psychology
