Dutch duo Vicetone is expanding their sound palette. The pair showcased a softer side on 2016’s “Nevada,” and fans were feeling the romantic vibes. It got the guys thinking, maybe it’s time to open the flood gates of experimentation.
For its latest single, Vicetone slather on the sunscreen and get to drinkin’ by the pool. “I Hear You” is a summer anthem ready to heat up any beach-side vacation. A cute conversational intro presses play on a pitched-up vocal sample that leads into a candy-colored synth melody. Hand claps and big drums push the tune forward into a sun that never sets.
“We’re very excited about this track as it feels like the spiritual successor to our track ‘Nevada,’” Vicetone says in a joint email statement. “We wanted to bring a unique and energetic vibe to the vocal and we hope our fans will embrace it like they did with ‘Nevada.’”
