UCLan Sport & Wellbeing

Here at the University of Central Lancashire we are passionate about sport and wellbeing. Whether you're looking to start a sports-related degree programme or simply looking for a uni with great facilities, activities and clubs to join during your time studying, we have something for everyone to get involved in.

We have a range of excellent sports facilities including our Sir Tom Finney Sports Centre, and a short distance from our Preston Campus, our Sports Arena. Meanwhile, if you're based at our Burnley campus, you can also make use of local facilities that we have partnered with so you can keep fit wherever you happen to be studying.

As well as having access to great facilities at The University of Central Lancashire, Preston is also home to a number of parks and green spaces, if you wanted to explore the natural world around you.

Alongside your studies you'll also have the option of completing National Governing Body Awards, volunteering with local sports clubs and community groups, and accessing a wide range of opportunities to enhance your personal and professional skills.

Free Sports Membership

Get fit and have fun with free membership* of our sports facilities, giving you access to our state-of-the-art Sir Tom Finney Sports Centre and our Sports Arena. Our outstanding facilities include a fully equipped gym and fitness suite, sports hall and outdoor sports pitches, plus your membership also allows you to join a range of activities delivered by the university's sports staff including exercise classes and fitness instruction. You will also have access to the Mywellness app by Technogym, helping you keep track of your sporting, fitness and health goals.

There's also great discounts available for our Alumni, so you can keep active and with us even after you graduate.

Membership does not include any sports activities organised and funded by the Students' Union such as joining a sports club, competing in British University College Sport, Students' Union Leagues, or any other activity the Students' Union may organise.

There are alternative arrangements available for our students studying at our Burnley and Westlakes campuses to ensure they can keep fit and stay active whilst studying with us.
