IBM News on Ulitzer IBM says it’s been hired to build an e-government cloud for Saigon, now Ho Chi Minh City, the one-time capital of South Vietnam. As a first step it’s supposed to consolidate all of the city government’s e-mail systems and web sites. The work will apparently be done in collaboration with something called Quang Trung Software City (QTSC), which let IBM the contract. QTSC will evidently run the new data center. IBM will call on the local resources it started establishing last year when it set up a cloud computing center in Vietnam located in both Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi. IBM is also co-operating with the Vietnamese Ministry of Science and Technology (MoST) in setting up a Vietnam Information for Science and Technology Advance Innovation Portal (VIP), an open innovation pilot program that runs on a cloud infrastructure. Lockheed Martin Team Prepared for Peak U.S. Census Data Capture Production

ROCKVILLE, Md., April 1, /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- With the U.S. Census now underway, Lockheed Martin's (NYSE: LMT) Decennial Response Integration System (DRIS) team is receiving up to 12 million census forms daily, processing as many as 2.5 million forms every 24 hours and answering more than 56,000 telephone inquiries per hour during peak production expected between the end of March and April 2010. The DRIS contract was awarded in September 2005 to the Lockheed Martin team, which includes major partners and a large small business component. Cisco Holds off HP in Leadership Battle for Cloud Infrastructure

RENO, NV -- (Marketwired) -- 06/17/14 -- New Q1 data from Synergy Research Group shows that Cisco held on to leadership of the cloud infrastructure equipment market and indeed marginally increased the gap between itself and second-ranked HP. Cisco, which achieved a historic market share high of 14.8%, first took over the top-ranking position in Q1 of last year. HP's market share dropped slightly to 13.7% in the quarter, while IBM fell off the pace due to falling server revenues -- an area where much of the product line is in the process of being sold off.
