SYS-CON Events announced today that Sheng Liang to Keynote at SYS-CON's
19th Cloud Expo, which will take place on November 1-3 at the Santa Clara
Convention Center in Santa Clara, California.
Sheng is a co-founder and CEO of Rancher Labs. Prior to starting Rancher,
Sheng was CTO of the Cloud Platforms group at Citrix Systems after their
acquisition of Cloud.com, where he was co-founder and CEO. Sheng has more
than 15 years of experience building innovative technology. He was a
co-founder at Teros, which was acquired by Citrix in 2005 and led large
engineering teams at SEVEN Networks, and Openwave Systems.
Sheng started his career as a Staff Engineer in Java Software at Sun
Microsystems, where he designed the Java Native Interface (JNI) and led the
Java Virtual Machine (JVM) development for the Java 2 platform. Sheng has a

The developments in Google's Cloud Computing segment, especially the Cloud
Machine Learning service, have been so rapid that Google calls it one of its
fastest growing product areas.
Google has been ramping up their Cloud Platform quite aggressively in recent
months. Just a few weeks ago, the Google Cloud Platform opened its newest
zone in Tokyo, increasing the total number of regions they are present in to
six - three in the US and one each in Belgium and Taiwan and Tokyo.
Not long ago, the company announced its acquisition of Orbitera, a cloud
commerce company. for more than a hundred million dollars. The developments
in Google’s Cloud Computing segment, especially the Cloud Machine Learning

At its core DevOps is all about collaboration. The lines of communication
must be opened and it takes some effort to ensure that they stay that way.
It's easy to pay lip service to trends and talk about implementing new
methodologies, but without action, real benefits cannot be realized. Success
requires planning, advocates empowered to effect change, and, of course, the

To bring about a cultural shift it's important to share challenges. In simple

When we talk about the impact of BYOD and BYOA and the Internet of Things, we
often focus on the impact on data center architectures. That's because there
will be an increasing need for authentication, for access control, for
security, for application delivery as the number of potential endpoints
(clients, devices, things) increases. That means scale in the data center.
What we gloss over, what we skip, is that before any of these "things" ever
makes a request to access an application it had to execute a DNS query.

Maybe that's because we assume DNS can handle the load. So far it's done

How Containers Will Usher in a New Era of Cloud Computing
In his keynote at 19th Cloud Expo, Sheng Liang, co-founder and CEO of Rancher
Labs, discussed the technological advances and new business opportunities
created by the rapid adoption of containers. With the success of Amazon Web
Services (AWS) and various open source technologies used to build private
clouds, cloud computing has become an essential component of IT strategy.
However, users continue to face challenges in implementing clouds, as older
technologies evolve and newer ones like Docker containers gain prominence.
He'll explore these challenges and how to address them, while considering how
containers will influence the direction of cloud computing.
