CSC Announces Agility Platform 9.2 to Accelerate Hybrid Cloud Benefits and Reach within the Enterprise

CSC (NYSE: CSC), a global leader in next-generation IT services and solutions, today announced the next generation of CSC’s Agility Platform™ 9.2 with new capabilities that make it easier for clients to manage large cloud service portfolios, order customizable hybrid cloud services, and extend a self-service IT delivery model to more end users across the enterprise.

CSC’s Agility Platform enables organizations to rapidly realize the benefits of a cloud-based IT operating model with multi-cloud management capabilities, extensible policy-based governance and security controls, and application release automation to support DevOps initiatives. By accelerating hybrid cloud adoption, Agility Platform makes it possible for global enterprises to increase agility and innovation, control IT costs, comply with governance and security requirements, and avoid the pitfalls of cloud vendor lock-in.

“Central IT must provide timely self-service access to platforms and applications to satisfy growing demand from software development teams and business unit customers, or risk being circumvented and subject to Shadow IT,” said Eric Pulier, vice president and general manager of CSC’s Cloud business unit. “By embracing a hybrid cloud model with the Agility Platform, central IT can provide a secure and compliant portfolio of self-service, on demand cloud services to satisfy end-user demand. It is a widespread enterprise mandate to deliver governed, secure and convenient IT-as-a-Service to the business while preserving cloud choice and vendor contestability in the future.”

“Hybrid cloud initiatives are increasingly important to IT executives as they seek to improve the pace of innovation and accelerate time to market for new applications and services,” said William Fellows, vice president, 451 Research. “These IT organizations want cloud management platforms that can minimize the complexity of deploying applications and platforms across hybrid clouds, and provide a flexible range of governance and security controls to fully automate deployments and select the best cloud execution venue for a given workload.”

CSC Agility Platform 9.2

Agility Platform 9.2 introduces new capabilities to accelerate the adoption of cloud-based IT operating models and DevOps initiatives within large enterprises. Key features include:

  • Policy-based Store Customization. Agility Platform 9.2 adds new features to its self-service store that make it easier to manage large cloud service portfolios and expose greater end user options at time of order. Clients can now customize an unlimited number of cloud deployment options and managed services using an extensible meta-model. The meta-model allows clients to create custom ordering parameters and options including price. End users select the appropriate options, which are then automatically enforced at time of deployment based on cloud governance policies.
  • Customizable Provisioning and Release Automation Workflows using BPMN. Agility Platform 9.2 supports standard-based BPMN workflows for custom provisioning processes, application release automation approval gates, SDLC tool chain workflow automation, and more. The versatility to implement a wide range of custom workflows based on the BPMN process modeling standard enables a broad range of new use cases for consuming and orchestrating cloud services.
  • Support for the OAuth2.0 Authentication Standard. Agility Platform 9.2 adds support for the OAuth2.0 open standard for user authentication, providing another option to enable the convenience of single sign-on for end users across third party applications and systems. The addition of OAuth2.0 expands the already broad range of Agility Platform identity management options supported, which include Microsoft Active Directory, LDAP, and SAML 2.0.
  • Enhanced API and Cloud SDK to simplify integration with third-party systems. Agility Platform 9.2 includes significant enhancements that improve scalability and simplify integration with existing IT infrastructure, third-party systems, and cloud providers. This includes enhancements to Agility Platform’s REST API, Cloud Software Developer Kit (SDK), and expanded supports for third-party network services including DNS, DHCP, and IP address management.

CSC’s Agility Platform is available in one-year term and perpetual licenses, and is also sold as-a-service as part of CSC’s Hybrid Cloud Services offering, and resold through CSC channel partners.

Today we can collect lots and lots of performance data. We build beautiful dashboards and even have fancy query languages to access and transform the data. Still performance data is a secret language only a couple of people understand. The more business becomes digital the more stakeholders are interested in this data including how it relates to business. Some of these people have never used a monitoring tool before. They have a question on their mind like “How is my application doing” but no idea how to get a proper answer.
