IBM and AT&T; are teaming up to deliver new cloud services over private
networks, according to this ComputerWorld article. As part of the new
offering, customers will have access to IBM’s cloud resources over AT&T;’s
virtual private network, which the companies claim will result in improved
security.
A recent survey reveals that companies are seeing mostly positive results
from adopting cloud technology, according to this Forbes.com article. The
Navint Partners report which showcased the results of a Fortune 500
roundtable survey of 20 CIOs, reveals that those companies are achieving the
expected cost savings, efficiency and competitive advantage benefits.

Amazon's Re:Invent show last week turned out to be quite a coming out party
for the predominant infrastructure service provider. There were a number of
interesting announcements that moved the stocks of perceived competitors, and
of course, there was a disproportionately large showing of attendees at the
Venetian in Las Vegas. For me, the highlight was provided by good friend, and
super smart VC, Jerry Chen, who went on The Cube to lay down the gauntlet
starting at about 7:00 in the video below:

Step 1: Download and install WampServer
Download the latest version of WAMP from here.
As of this writing the current version is 2.0h dated 04/16/09 and file you
will download is called WampServer2.0h.exe
Run the file WampServer2.0h.exe
You will be asked to agree to the software license, approve the choice of
directory, select the default browser, and decide if you want a desktop
and/or quick launch icon. For the directory the default is c:\wamp but you
may change to whatever you like. In later steps in this document it will be
assumed you selected c:\wamp so change this to your choice of directory.
Step 2: Test the WampServer installation
Test the installation by running WampServer. An icon will appear in your tool
tray. Click on it and you will see:
