Collaboration in the Cloud How are collaboration tools and cloud trends coming together? Is cloud the right deployment strategy for collaboration systems? In a session called "Internal, External, Cumulonimbus?" to be given by Ken Muir - Chief Technology & Strategy Officer at Novell - Muir will examine a secure on-premise and cloud deployment mix, challenges organizations should anticipate when shifting to the cloud, and key things to consider when building out a cloud collaboration strategy.

Community Clouds In a sure-to-be-popular session, "How & Why the Public Sector is Leading the Way to the Cloud," CloudCamp co-founder Dave Nielsen will be explaining at Cloud Expo New York how the Cloud is moving towards v2.0, in which we are beginning to see "Community Clouds" develop where multiple organizations band together to create a shared Cloud resource.

Digital Forensics Jon Shende, an advisory board member at EBSL Technologies, will be giving a session on "Digital Forensics and Cloud Computing" in which among other things he will be showing how a major challenge to any digital forensics investigation within a distributed environment such as cloud computing could be challenges locating and/or identifying data when single data structures are split into elements, time stamps confusion and accountability.

Enterprise Cloud Computing Having talked about Enterprise Cloud Computing as "The Infrastructure's Ultimate Revenge" in 2009, the CIO of the National Reconnaissance Office, Jill Tummler Singer, will be returning to Cloud Expo this coming June to review the intervening two years and ask if government organizations and corporations are riding a real wave of IT change to the future...or whether both government and corporate IT is caught up in a water spout so far off the shore that no one will feel its impact? Her session will be titled: "Is Enterprise Cloud Computing a Tidal Wave of Change?"

Federal Government Cloud Computing "What Does GovCloud Mean to the Global IT Industry?" is the question that will be asked by ever-popular Cloud Expo speaker Kevin Jackson in his June session. Jackson will be exploring the economic impact of GovCloud from the position of the information technology and professional services industries. It will also discuss the new business strategies best suited to this new environment.

Java EE in the Cloud In a session entitled "Running Your Java EE Applications in the Cloud," Oracle's Java EE & GlassFish Guy, Arun Gupta, will be showing how to create a simple Java EE 6 sample application and deploy it on GlassFish v3 running locally, then deploy it using Amazon, RightScale, Joyent, and Elastra cloud infrastructures

Monetizing the Cloud Mark Skilton, Global Director of Global Application Outsourcing at Capgemini will be providing guidance on the monetization strategies, new business models to adopt and value propositions for cloud computing. With his co-presenter Penelope Everall Gordon, co-founder of 1Plug Corporation, Skilton will be defining what the levers are for competitive advantage using cloud technology and what business metrics consumers of cloud services and providers of those services need to focus on. Their session is titled: Monetization Strategies for Cloud Computing Services.

SOA in the Cloud In a case study session on moving towards a service-oriented approach, Paul Robbins - Software Manager at NYTimes.com - will be covering the hurdles of moving to a service-based approach and will discuss how this reduces many other infrastructure concerns and provides flexibility when determining a server environment. His session is called "How SOA Makes Moving to the Cloud Easier."

The Transactional Cloud Successful cloud integration - that's to say, integration that scales with the needs of the enterprise - will be the biggest business in the cloud. But it requires fundamentally new architectures and approaches: that is where Agile Cloud Integration comes in. In his session "Tales From Cloud 2.0 - a.k.a. The Transactional Cloud," Simeon Simeonov. CEO of FastIgnite, will discuss how we can avoid the mistakes of the past.

Vendor Lock-in – One session that is certain to be crowded at Cloud Expo New York is " Cloud Users of the World, Unite!" to be given by Gregor Petri from CA Technologies. Using examples and analogies from both the IT and other industries, Petri will dissect cloud lock-in into its archetypes and look at possible architectural, organizational and commercial remedies. His aim? To find common ground and make the cloud "lock-in free."

Zero Latency In his Cloud Expo New York session, The Race Towards Zero: Reducing Latency to Real Real-Time, the CTO of Sybase, Irfan Khan, will be discussing current approaches towards achieving a zero-latency environment and expanding delegates' knowledge on how to exploit this technology to their advantage.
