Box today announced that leading pharmaceutical and life sciences
organizations Jazz Pharmaceuticals and Boston Scientific Corporation
have recently chosen Box as their primary platform for managing and
collaborating on content. These companies join Box’s growing
pharmaceutical and life sciences customer base, which includes
AstraZeneca, Eli Lilly and Company, Edwards Lifesciences and others.
"Pharmaceutical and life sciences companies have a tremendous
opportunity to move critical business content like research materials
and findings to the cloud, dramatically improving internal and external
processes and increasing the speed and flow of information,” said
Whitney Bouck, general manager of enterprise at Box. “For companies like
Jazz Pharmaceuticals and Boston Scientific, Box provides the platform
that powers secure global collaboration and drives productivity
company-wide.”
Boston Scientific
Boston
Scientific will deploy Box from AT&T to 23,000 global employees in
an effort to enable more efficient, secure and user-friendly access to
content on desktops and mobile devices. A key element in Boston
Scientific’s company-wide Box deployment is the company’s relationship
with AT&T Business Solutions. Boston Scientific relies on AT&T’s deep
mobile expertise, advanced wired and wireless network, and array of
technology services and applications across its operations. With a
combined Box and AT&T solution, Boston Scientific will better meet the
needs of its mobile sales force, which increasingly requires access to
the latest collateral and information while on the road engaging with
customers.
“Our IT group is focused on driving innovation across our company and
helping us build a sustainable competitive advantage through technology
and collaboration,” said Rich Adduci, CIO at Boston Scientific. “We’ve
been leveraging mobile technology like iPads to improve how our sales
teams communicate with physicians and health-care providers. Box is not
only a secure, user-friendly tool for amplifying that mobile sales
strategy, it’s also a platform that our entire employee base can use to
collaborate and drive productivity and innovation.”
“Box from AT&T provides businesses an enriched mobile storage and
collaboration experience. It represents a flexible and agile approach to
mobilize and enhance business processes and communication in a highly
secure fashion,” said Abhi Ingle, Senior Vice President, Advanced
Solutions, AT&T Business Solutions. “For companies like Boston
Scientific, the ability to securely store and access content
across a vast network of employees and platforms is invaluable.”
Ingle will appear during the morning keynote on September 4 at BoxWorks
2014.
Jazz Pharmaceuticals
Jazz
Pharmaceuticals selected Box to enable internal and external
collaboration while still meeting critical IT requirements for security.
Box will be deployed company-wide as the primary tool for document
collaboration and centralized content management.
“As our business continues to grow, we need a cloud partner that gives
our employees who reside in multiple global locations, easy and secure
access to business information from anywhere on any device. We also
wanted a partner committed to rapid innovation that’s driven by our
industry needs,” said Brian Shew, vice president and CIO at Jazz
Pharmaceuticals. “With Box, we have an enabling collaboration platform
for supporting our global business and entrepreneurial culture.”
AstraZeneca
AstraZeneca
chose Box to power new ways of working – while securing IP – for
faculty, staff, researchers and its mobile sales force. The company
leverages Box for secure external collaboration between consultants and
managed market groups. With Box, sales reps are able to access the most
current collateral from mobile devices, even when offline.
"The IT landscape is changing so fast and CIOs need to implement the
right tools to compete successfully in the market," said David Smoley,
CIO at AstraZeneca. "Cloud technologies like Box have allowed us to
remain nimble, while still placing an emphasis on internal control and
innovation."
Eli Lilly
Lilly
is using Box as part of its innovative global IT strategy to mobilize
its global field workforce. The multi-phase initiative has increased the
productivity, effectiveness and capabilities of mobile employees by
deploying cloud applications including Box, Veeva on Salesforce.com and
MobileIron on more than 20,000 iPads distributed across the
organization. Lilly also takes advantage of Box’s OneCloud mobile app
gallery, which offers easy connectivity to integrated mobile apps like
Notability, Outline+, iThoughts and iAnnotate.
“By empowering our global workforce to work more efficiently and
collaboratively with tools that truly support the way they want to work,
we’re able to create a more connected and productive environment leading
to improved customer experiences,” said Mike Meadows, Vice President and
CTO at Lilly. “Moving to cloud and mobile technologies like Box and the
iPad allows us to centralize our content and provide a unified mobility
solution for our employees to get work done anytime, anywhere.”
