The Industrial Internet and the Cloud: Challenges in the Road Ahead
The Industrial Internet revolution is now underway, enabled by connected machines and billions of devices that communicate and collaborate.
The massive amounts of Big Data requiring real-time analysis is flooding legacy IT systems and giving way to cloud environments that can handle the unpredictable workloads.
Yet many barriers remain until we can fully realize the opportunities and benefits from the convergence of machines and devices with Big Data and the cloud, including interoperability, data security and privacy.
In his session at 15th Cloud Expo, Dave Duggal, Founder and Managing Director of EnterpriseWeb LLC, will focus on public-private work being done today to identify the IoT standards, architecture, frameworks and security needed to enable and accelerate the $32 trillion opportunity ahead.
Speaker Bio:
Dave Duggal founded EnterpriseWeb LLC (www.enterpriseweb.com) in 2009. EnterpriseWeb® is an application platform for dynamic, data-driven applications and processes. Dave is a proven business leader who has made a career of building, growing and turning around companies and is a proponent of next generation ‘smart' business processes. He is co-inventor of the patented EnterpriseWeb technology and is the author of several academic papers on web-style software architecture. Dave is a member of the Industrial Internet Consortium (www.iiconsortium.org), the nonprofit organization that was founded in March 2014 by AT&T, Cisco, General Electric, IBM and Intel. Now with 85 member companies, the IIC accelerates growth of the Industrial Internet by coordinating public-private ecosystem initiatives to connect and integrate objects with people, processes and data using common architectures, interoperability and open standards that lead to transformational business outcomes.
