Message from the dean

Graduate education matters. It is critically important to the success of all research universities.  In the rapidly changing environment of higher education, research, and technology, graduate education matters perhaps more than ever before. Through research, scholarship, creative work and community engagement, it trains students to address the world's most pressing problems for the future of humanity.

Recruiting, retaining, and graduating the very best and brightest graduate students is a top priority and why Illinois remains a premier land grant institution with global impact.

I hope that these stories of our students, alumni, and friends will inspire you to support Illinois’ best and brightest graduate students through a gift to the Graduate College.

With warm appreciation,

Wojtek J. Chodzko-Zajko, PhD
Dean, Graduate College
Shahid and Ann Carlson Khan Professor in Applied Health Science
