Nutanix “Platinum Sponsor” of @CloudExpo NY & Silicon Valley | #AI #DevOps

Learn at the Nutanix education track June 6-8 at the Javits more about DevOps, Containers, Big Data, and Service Providers

Nutanix Enterprise Cloud for DevOps

DevOps is often described as a combination of technology and culture. Without both, DevOps isn't complete. However, applying the culture to outdated technology is a recipe for disaster; as response times grow and connections between teams are delayed by technology, the culture will die. A Nutanix Enterprise Cloud has many benefits that provide the needed base for a true DevOps paradigm.

In his general session at 20th Cloud Expo, Chris Brown, a Solutions Marketing Manager at Nutanix, will explore the ways that Nutanix technologies empower teams to react faster than ever before and connect teams in ways that were either too complex or simply impossible with traditional infrastructures.

Speaker Bio
Chris Brown is a Solutions Marketing Manager at Nutanix. He has 6 years of IT experience, with the majority of that time being spent in technical support. Currently he is focused on DevOps, Containers, Big Data, and Service Providers. His goal is to help customers and partners better understand how the Nutanix Enterprise Cloud Platform actually works, and how this can benefit companies, no matter where they are on their cloud journey. Prior to Nutanix Chris worked at Cisco, supporting the UCS and Nexus 1000v. He has many certifications, including CCIE, NSS, Hyper-V Specialist, and the VCIX-NV.

OpenStack Integration

Some people worry that OpenStack is more flash then substance; however, for many customers this could not be farther from the truth. No other technology equalizes the playing field between vendors while giving your internal teams better access than ever to infrastructure when they need it.

In his session at 20th Cloud Expo, Chris Brown, a Solutions Marketing Manager at Nutanix, will talk through some real-world OpenStack deployments and look into the ways this can benefit customers of all sizes. He will also talk through Nutanix's OpenStack integrations and show how together these technologies give IT professionals a new way to approach infrastructure in today's cloud world.

Persistent Storage for Containers

In recent years, containers have taken the world by storm. Companies of all sizes and industries have realized the massive benefits of containers, such as unprecedented mobility, higher hardware utilization, and increased flexibility and agility; however, many containers today are non-persistent. Containers without persistence miss out on many benefits, and in many cases simply pass the responsibility of persistence onto other infrastructure, adding additional complexity.

In his session at @DevOpsSummit at 20th Cloud Expo, Denis Guyadeen, a Product Manager at Nutanix, will explore the benefits of persistent containers, talk about why persistence for containers makes sense and explore some of the Nutanix technologies that enable this persistence.

Speaker Bio
Denis Guyadeen is a Product Manager at Nutanix and currently leading the company's Container strategy which includes Acropolis Container Services and Container Ecosystem Integration.

Denis has over 24 yrs of experience in the Information Technology industry in various roles spanning Pre-Sales Engineering, Consulting Technologist, Solutions Architect and Systems Administrator. Prior to Nutanix he spent 12.5 years at EMC in a variety of roles. Most recently he was a Consulting Technologist in the EMC Solutions Group CTO Office where he was focused on Big Data, DevOps and OpenStack Solutions.

Denis has numerous industry certifications including AWS CSA, Cloudera CCAH, VCP2, VCP3, VCP4, VCP5, VTSP, VSP, CCNA, CCDA, ITIL, EMCIEe, EMCTAe, BCFP, LCNA, NCSA, SCP.

The widespread success of cloud computing is driving the DevOps revolution in enterprise IT. Now as never before, development teams must communicate and collaborate in a dynamic, 24/7/365 environment. There is no time to wait for long development cycles that produce software that is obsolete at launch. DevOps may be disruptive, but it is essential.

@DevOpsSummit will expand the DevOps community, enable a wide sharing of knowledge, and educate delegates and technology providers alike. Recent research has shown that DevOps dramatically reduces development time, the amount of enterprise IT professionals put out fires, and support time generally. Time spent on infrastructure development is significantly increased, and DevOps practitioners report more software releases and higher quality. Without a clear strategy for cost control and an architecture designed with cloud services in mind, costs and operational performance can quickly get out of control. To avoid multiple architectural redesigns requires extensive thought and planning. Boundary (now part of BMC) launched a new public-facing multi-tenant high resolution monitoring service on Amazon AWS two years ago, facing challenges and learning best practices in the early days of the new service.
The essence of cloud computing is that all consumable IT resources are delivered as services. In his session at 15th Cloud Expo, Yung Chou, Technology Evangelist at Microsoft, demonstrated the concepts and implementations of two important cloud computing deliveries: Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) and Platform as a Service (PaaS). He discussed from business and technical viewpoints what exactly they are, why we care, how they are different and in what ways, and the strategies for IT to transi...

For organizations that have amassed large sums of software complexity, taking a microservices approach is the first step toward DevOps and continuous improvement / development. Integrating system-level analysis with microservices makes it easier to change and add functionality to applications at any time without the increase of risk. Before you start big transformation projects or a cloud migration, make sure these changes won’t take down your entire organization.

I spend a lot of time talking to banks, big industries, manufacturers working through how they are integrating and transforming their IT platforms and moving them forward," explained William Morrish, General Manager Product Sales at Interoute, in this SYS-CON.tv interview at 18th Cloud Expo, held June 7-9, 2016, at the Javits Center in New York City, NY.
There are 66 million network cameras capturing terabytes of data. How did factories in Japan improve physical security at the facilities and improve employee productivity? Edge Computing reduces possible kilobytes of data collected per second to only a few kilobytes of data transmitted to the public cloud every day. Data is aggregated and analyzed close to sensors so only intelligent results need to be transmitted to the cloud. Non-essential data is recycled to optimize storage.

FinTech is the sum of financial and technology, and it’s one of the fastest growing tech industries. Total global investments in FinTech almost reached $50 billion last year, but there is still a great deal of confusion over what it is and what it means – especially as it applies to retirement. Building financial startups is not simple, but with the right team, technology and an innovative approach it can be an extremely interesting domain to disrupt. FinTech heralds a financial revolution that...
