OCZ Storage Solutions to Showcase Its Latest Flash-Based Virtualization Solutions at VMworld 2014 US

Join OCZ in Moscone South, Booth #535, August 24th-27th

SAN FRANCISCO, CA--(Marketwired - August 22, 2014) - VMworld 2014 USA -- OCZ Storage Solutions -- a Toshiba Group Company and leading provider of high-performance solid-state drives (SSDs) for computing devices and systems, will showcase its flash-based virtualization solutions at this week's VMworld Conference & Exhibition, in Santa Francisco, California, from August 24th through August 27th. This targeted industry event focusing on the tools and technologies that automate virtualized data centers and deliver applications more efficiently is an excellent opportunity for OCZ to present its virtualized storage portfolio to new and existing customers while providing a forum to network with strategic partners that have solutions which complement OCZ enterprise solid state storage solutions.

At the forefront of OCZ's VMworld showcased solutions is the Z-Drive 4500 PCIe SSD Series that leverages 19 nanometer (nm) MLC NAND flash and supports 800GB, 1.6TB and 3.2TB usable capacities. Each model in the series delivers industry-fast performance and works in conjunction with OCZ's VXL Virtualization Software to distribute flash cache resources on-demand across virtual machines (VMs). The flash is distributed between VMs based on need making sure that no VM inefficiently occupies flash when it could be better used elsewhere in the environment.

Native ESXi support is also featured in OCZ's new ZD-XL SQL Accelerator 1.5 solution which enables Microsoft SQL Server to run in a virtualized environment. Its flash resources deploy dynamically and exactly to the needs of VMs to support resource sharing and provisioning on-demand so that multiple VMs can run SQL Server workloads concurrently. ZD-XL SQL Accelerator 1.5 supports SQL Server versions 2014, 2012 and 2008 (Rev. 2) and VMware ESXi 5.5, 5.1, 5.0 and 4.1 versions, and is available in three MLC models supporting 800GB, 1.6TB and 3.2TB usable capacities in a Full-Height/Half-Length (FH/HL) form factor.

Support for VMware Fault Tolerance (FT) without the need for a costly back-end storage area network (SAN) is one of the unique and key differential advantages of OCZ solid state virtualization. In this High Availability (HA) 'SAN-less' enterprise, flash data is synchronously replicated assuring that host-based flash is treated as a continuously available storage resource across VMware clusters. This approach yields no data loss and no VM downtime even during complete server, system or power failures.

As virtualized operating systems demand accelerated storage bandwidth, OCZ's Intrepid 3000 SATA III SSD Series delivers industry-leading sustained performance and consistent I/O responses in even the most demanding and compute-intensive applications. The Intrepid 3000 Series supports the 2.5-inch form factor and is available in two configurations. Intrepid 3600 drives utilize reliable and cost-effective MLC NAND media for read-intensive applications while Intrepid 3800 drives feature high endurance eMLC NAND media for write-intensive applications. Both configurations are available in 100GB, 200GB, 400GB and 800GB usable storage capacities.

With a complete virtualization portfolio that leverages leading-edge storage hardware and software, OCZ solid-state solutions deliver cutting-edge performance, high enterprise endurance and reliability, and reduced total cost of ownership (TCO) for large scale data centers, enterprises and IT infrastructures worldwide. Learn more about how OCZ's innovative storage solutions can address your unique storage challenges at this week's VMworld Solutions Exchange Expo, Booth #535 in Moscone South. More information on OCZ enterprise products is available at www.ocz.com/enterprise.

Digital Initiatives create new ways of conducting business, which drive the need for increasingly advanced security and regulatory compliance challenges with exponentially more damaging consequences. In the BMC and Forbes Insights Survey in 2016, 97% of executives said they expect a rise in data breach attempts in the next 12 months. Sixty percent said operations and security teams have only a general understanding of each other’s requirements, resulting in a “SecOps gap” leaving organizations u...
