@ThingsExpo has been named the Top Most Influential Internet of Things 'Media Brand' by Onalytica in the ‘The Internet of Things Landscape 2015: Top 100 Individuals and Brands.'
Onalytica analyzed Twitter conversations around the IoT debate to uncover the most influential brands and individuals driving the conversation.
Intel and Cisco have been named the world's most influential IoT brands, followed by SYS-CON Media's global IoT event, @ThingsExpo as the world's most influential IoT media brand.
Onalytica captured data from 56,224 users. The PageRank based methodology they use to extract influencers on a particular topic (tweets mentioning #InternetofThings or #IoT in this case) takes into account the number and quality of contextual references that a user receives.
According to Onalytica "The real benefits of the IoT and M2M have yet to be fully realized but we are already seeing increased mobility and efficiency in the workplace, saving us time and money."
in overall placement, @ThingsExpo ranked as the 3rd "Most Influential" Internet of Things Brand in the World" followed by @CloudExpo at 42nd, and @DevOpsSummit at 100.
Full IoT report can be downloaded here.
In December @ThingsExpo Was Also Named World's Most Influential M2M Media Brand
@ThingsExpo was named the Top 5 Most Influential M2M Brand by Onalytica in the ‘Machine to Machine: Top 100 Influencers and Brands.' Onalytica analyzed the online debate on M2M by looking at over 85,000 tweets to provide the most influential individuals and brands that drive the discussion.
According to Onalytica the "analysis showed a very engaged community with a lot of interactive tweets.
The M2M discussion seems to be more fragmented and driven by some of the major brands present in the M2M space.
This really allows some room for influential individuals to create more high value interactions amongst community members."
@ThingsExpo ranked as the 5th "Most Influential" #M2M Brand in the World" and the most influential M2M media brand, followed by @CloudExpo at 41st, and @DevOpsSummit at 76th.
Methodology
The PageRank based methodology used to extract influencers on a particular topic (tweets mentioning #m2m or "m2m" in this case) takes into account the number and quality of contextual references that a user receives.
These calculations are independent of a user's number of followers, but they are filtered lists based on how much a user is engaged in the conversation.
Cloud Expo and @ThingsExpo Conference Chair Roger Strukhoff ranked 25th as a Top 100 M2M Influencer and Carmen Gonzalez, CEO of SYS-CON Media and Events, ranked 32nd.

CEO Power Panel in Silicon Valley Examined Agility, Cloud, Big Data, and the 'Internet of Things'
Things are being built upon cloud foundations to transform organizations. This CEO Power Panel at 15th Cloud Expo, moderated by Roger Strukhoff, Cloud Expo and @ThingsExpo conference chair, addressed the big issues involving these technologies and, more important, the results they will achieve. Rodney Rogers, chairman and CEO of Virtustream; Brendan O'Brien, co-founder of Aria Systems, Bart Copeland, president and CEO of ActiveState Software; Jim Cowie, chief scientist at Dyn; Dave Wagstaff, VP and chief architect at BSQUARE Corporation; Seth Proctor, CTO of NuoDB, Inc.; and Andris Gailitis, CIO of DEAC, discussed how important public, private, and hybrid cloud are to the enterprise. How does one define Big Data? And how is the IoT tying all this together?
