The CDG, founded in December 1993, is an international consortium of companies who work together to lead the growth and evolution of advanced wireless telecommunication systems. The CDG is comprised of service providers, infrastructure manufacturers, device suppliers, test equipment vendors, application developers and content providers. Its members work to expand the availability of wireless products and services to consumers and businesses worldwide.

The primary activities of the CDG include strategic, technical and advocacy efforts that promote the growth and advancement of wireless technologies based on globally accepted open standards.
