Important
Notice:
By
installing this kit you will assume sole responsibility for any and all
liability of incidental or consequential damage to your machine,
yourself and others.
Some areas
of your playfield contain very high voltage, be sure and install
this kit with the power turned off.
Installation:
Repeat this entire procedure to both sides
of playfield.
Using an
11/32" socket driver, remove the slingshot plastics under the
existing boogie men.
Using a
1/4" socket driver, remove the metal bracket that holds the
original boogie man. To keep a clean look, I would recommend
reinstalling the screw only back into the playfield or this hole will be
partially visible.
Remove the 4
balls from the machine and stand the playfield upright in a service
position. Do this by lifting up on playfield, then pull it out toward
you until it locks, swing the playfield up until it rests against the
head of the machine.
Remove the
kicker arm from the coil. There is a small clip and washer holding it in
place. Be careful not to lose these since they will be put back when you
install the new arm. See Fig. 1 below.
Using a
1/4" socket driver, remove the 3 bracket screws that hold the
kicker arm to the playfield. Now you can carefully remove the kicker arm
assembly from the playfield. See Fig. 2 below.
Remove the
clip and washer holding the mounting bracket to the old kicker arm and
reinstall the bracket to your new boogieman kicker.
Now you can
carefully reinstall the new kicker arm to your machine. As you reinstall
the three 1/4" screws, be careful not to over tighten and strip out
the playfield.
Now you can
reinstall the washer and clip that you removed earlier from the coil.
Your almost
ready to boogie! After you have completed this entire procedure to both
sides, lower your playfield and reinstall the 4 balls in your game.
Temporarily
set your slingshot plastics back in to place, you will need to push the
boogieman extensions forward to do this. Move the extensions forward a
few times with your finger and make sure it is not rubbing on your
slingshots. You may need to remove the slingshot plastic and slightly
bend the extension sideways one way or the other so it can move freely
within the opening of the slingshot plastic. Now reinstall your
slingshot plastics with the 11/32 nuts.
Slide the
new boogiemen that came with this kit onto your new extensions. Because
the extensions are hollow, they will create a suction preventing them
from falling off.
GET
DOWN...LETS BOOGIE
Since your
machine is probably not yet set up to dance during the boogie mode you
will need to turn this on in the machines program. In your machines
program under (A-2) go to setting number 32 and turn it on.
