The convergence of increased data stored on company networks and stricter

be stored for have helped cloud storage explode in popularity. The cloud
offers an easy-to-use, scalable and cost-effective solution for data storage.
However, organizations must seriously consider how they manage their storage
from a back-up and disaster recovery perspective. While there is no doubt
that cloud computing can speed disaster recovery - from reducing the time it
takes to restore data, to the fact that information is stored off-site,
alleviating the risk of natural disasters - incorrectly managing the storage

system usable by non-technical bookkeepers, accountants, and non-profit

AppScale Systems, a newly surfaced start-up that has its own AppScale Cloud
Platform, an open source runtime system for web applications and mobile
application back-ends, just introduced its first commercial product,
ScaleSafe, which automates failover and migration of cloud apps and data that
use Google App Engine services for their implementation.
AppScale was started by Woody Rollins, the founding CEO of Eucalyptus
Systems, and Chandra Krintz, the University of California, Santa Barbara
professor who happens to be married to Rich Wolski, another Eucalyptus

Google rivals are pressing the European Commission to reject Google's
proposed antitrust settlement as "totally inadequate" because the search firm
would still have "too much scope" to favor its own products in its search
results.
The EC said it's gotten "very negative" feedback from Microsoft and other
companies that originally leveled antitrust charges against Google.
Google offered to label its properties and show links "to three rival
specialized search services close to its own." The EC said Google also has
agreements with web sites and ISVs that stifle competition for ads.

Historically, the end user has not been a primary focus for IT operations.
While this focus is starting to change, the user continues to be supported
through the service desk and enabled through the management of the devices
used. This level of support alone does not give the user the ability to solve
IT problems independently or provide visibility into how these people use IT.
