Adobe Anywhere Launches at NAB 2013

Adobe Systems Incorporated (Nasdaq:ADBE) today announced Adobe®Anywhere for video, a modern, collaborative workflow platform that empowers teams using Adobe professional video tools to work together, enabling the access and management of centralized media and assets across virtually any network. Revealed as a technology preview in 2012, Adobe Anywhere supports tools such as Adobe Premiere® Pro, Adobe After Effects®*, and Adobe Prelude™, and will be showcased at this year’s National Association of Broadcasters (NAB) show, with final availability expected in May 2013. Adobe Anywhere will be on display during the NAB show taking place April 8-11, 2013 at Adobe’s booth # SL3910, South Hall in the Las Vegas Convention Center.

“The video industry is going through dramatic changes, and broadcasters and other large-scale content production organizations are seeking simpler ways to increase production and collaboration across distributed teams, and they can’t afford to learn new tools,” said Jim Guerard, vice president of Enterprise Solutions, Adobe. “Adobe Anywhere allows these companies to build teams based on talent, not location, meet the high demands of a rapidly evolving industry, and reduce overall costs.”

Integrate Easily with Standard Hardware and Industry-Leading Tools

Adobe Anywhere is unique with its open platform architecture that includes use of existing infrastructure and integration with standard IT hardware, software, and network processes, thus reducing the need for additional capital expenditure and resources. Adobe Anywhere does not require heavy file transfers and does not rely on proxy files, enabling video professional to work directly with high-quality media. For complete control and security, Adobe Anywhere is hosted on-premise with other enterprise media storage and asset management infrastructure.

“The collaboration required within virtual teams for a global news organization such as CNN is enormous,” said Michael Koetter, senior vice president of Technology Architecture & Development, Turner Broadcasting Systems. “Adobe Anywhere will provide our talent the power to edit and share their video productions – no matter where in the world they are. Achieving truly location independent production represents a huge milestone for our global business.”

Adobe Anywhere complements Adobe Creative Cloud™ and enables deep collaboration features for enterprise-ready production workflows. Adobe Anywhere requires customers to use the latest version of Adobe video software, such as Adobe Premiere Pro. These video applications, along with other leading Adobe creative tools, are available through Adobe Creative Cloud.

Collaborate with a Modern, Scalable Platform

Adobe Anywhere is a collaboration platform that brings together virtual teams of video professionals, enabling them to log, edit, share and finish media simultaneously, from virtually any location where there is standard network connectivity. With Adobe Anywhere, editors and other video professionals can use local or remote networks to simultaneously access, stream, and work with remotely stored media.

Two key components of Adobe Anywhere include the Adobe Mercury Streaming Engine and the Adobe Anywhere Collaboration Hub. With the powerful Adobe Mercury Streaming Engine, video professionals can eliminate hours of time spent transferring or duplicating large files and give team members instant access to files from anywhere. The Adobe Anywhere Collaboration Hub removes the boundaries between project files and allows multiple people to use different applications to access work on the same project files at the same time. And, to support the Adobe Anywhere open platform, Adobe is collaborating with industry-leading companies including Dell, EMC Isilon, Harmonic, HP, NVIDIA, Quantum StorNext, and Supermicro.
