Google to Take On Amazon with Same-Day Delivery

TechCrunch claims the service will cost somewhere around $64-$69, which is $10-$15 cheaper than Amazon

Reports have resurfaced of Google starting a same-day delivery service in San Francisco called Google Shopping Express for local shops to rival Amazon's ambitions for its Prime business.

Couriers will evidently pick up the parcels.

TechCrunch claims the service will cost somewhere around $64-$69, which is $10-$15 cheaper than Amazon, which charges around $79 a year for free two-day delivery of purchases on Amazon.com .

Reportedly Tom Fallows, an e-commerce product manager at Google, is in charge.

Google recently bought BufferBox, whose service lets businesses drop off packages close to the consumer. It also bought Channel Intelligence in a $125 million deal that gave the search giant lots of data on e-commerce transactions.
