Notable Features: Radical new design, multi-touch display, removal of clickwheel.
Apple took a radical new design approach with the 2010 iPod nano, abandoning their core design of the previous two years in exchange for a drastically smaller, clickwheel-free design. The design is similar to the of the 4th gen shuffle, just no buttons. The multitouch display incorporates for multiple home screens that can be swiped to and from with a flick of a finger. The interface can also be rotated by a pinch-and-twist gesture for full 360-degrees. The battery life remains the same, but now it's more portable and can clip onto your shirt. Apple also tweaked the VoiceOver function to incorporate new cues, like ones that indicate when the battery is low, and kept the built-in FM receiver. Unfortunately, the new design eliminated the video camera and video viewing feature of the previous year's model but maintained the same data storage options.
