Hot off his Oscar nomination and the box office success of 21 Jump Street, Jonah Hill is poised to join The Wolf of Wall Street for director Martin Scorsese.
The film stars Leonardo DiCaprio as disgraced stockbroker Jordan Belfort, upon whose memoir the film is based. The Wolf of Wall Street recounts the drug-addled Belfort's hard-partying ways before he ended up getting busted for money-laundering in 1998 and doing almost two years in federal prison.
Variety says Hill is in negotiations to play his best friend and comrade in crime who becomes a cocaine addict.
Filming is scheduled to begin this August in New York.
