SYS-CON Events Announces Cloud Expo 2012 New York Venue

The four-day event will attract an estimated 10,000 delegates and 200 sponsors and exhibitors on a 120,000 sq ft show floor

SYS-CON Events announced today that Cloud Expo 2012 New York, the 10th International Cloud Computing Conference & Expo, will take place June 11-14, 2012, at the Javits Center in New York City.

The International Cloud Computing Conference & Expo series is the world's leading Cloud-focused event and is held three times a year, in New York, Silicon Valley and in Europe. Over 400 corporate sponsors and 20,000 industry professionals have participated in Cloud Expo since its inception, more than all other Cloud-related events put together.

"Cloud Expo was announced on February 24, 2007, the day the term ‘cloud computing' was coined," said Fuat Kircaali, founder and chairman of SYS-CON Events, Inc. "Cloud has become synonymous with ‘computing' and ‘software' in two short years, and this event has become the new PC Expo, Comdex, and InternetWorld of our decade. By 2012, more than 50,000 delegates per year will be attending Cloud Expo."

"10th Cloud Expo is trending to be both the biggest ever and the best-attended event in the international Cloud Expo series to date, so it is only natural that we should be holding it in the biggest and best conference venue anywhere on the East Coast, the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center," stated Carmen Gonzalez, CEO of Cloud Expo. "If you are not at Cloud Expo New York, June 11-14, at the Javits Center, then you risk not getting the relevant parts of your IT infrastructure into the Cloud in time."

"As we approach the tenth successive Cloud Expo, it has been gratifying to receive the largest number of speaking submissions we have ever had, in excess of eleven hundred, and to see from the subject matter of those speaking proposals how the scope and reach of Cloud Computing is so clearly widening and deepening. Its impact is being felt not only throughout Enterprise IT but also worldwide," noted Jeremy Geelan, President and COO of Cloud Expo. "As a result, the lineup of speakers and sessions at Cloud Expo New York this coming June includes more CEOs, CTOs, and CIOs of top Cloud players than any previous Cloud Expo."

The four-day event will offer a rich array of sessions led by exceptional speakers about the business and technical value of cloud computing with an estimated 200 sponsors and exhibitors on the 120,000 sq. ft. show floor and 10,000 estimated delegates from well over 48 different countries.

Cloud Expo Breaking News
Endless discussion about the "right" cloud delivery model has not produced a consensus. Instead, the cacophony of discussion resembles a Fox News Show - all talking points and no enlightenment. The reality is that every IT organization will face a mixed deployment model going forward. The key issue is how that mixed environment will be implemented and managed as well as how to decide which environment is right for a given application. In his session at the 10th International Cloud Expo, James U...
“Security standards for moving data into and out of the cloud and for hosting it within the cloud will dramatically help accelerate adoption of the cloud as a secure computing platform,” observed Dr. William L. Bain, founder and CEO of ScaleOut Software, in this exclusive Q&A; with Cloud Expo Conference Chair Jeremy Geelan. Bain also noted that “additional standards for creating elastic clusters that are physically co-located and use high speed networking will also help in hosting applications th...
“Big Data is not simply code for lots of information,” observed Victoria Kouyoumjian, Sr. Business and Technologies Strategist at Esri, in this exclusive Q&A; with Cloud Expo Conference Chair Jeremy Geelan. “Instead,” Kouyoumjian noted, “Big Data refers to information in myriad different formats from varying sources – and many of these digital formats and streams haven’t existed until recently.” Cloud Computing Journal: Agree or disagree? – "While the IT savings aspect is compelling, the stronge...
As workers continue to demand business apps on their connected devices, the mobile cloud will play a key role in changing the enterprise IT landscape forever. The mobile cloud provides users with the ability to go beyond the capabilities of their smart devices by offering unlimited data storage, processing services and other functions not native to the devices – typically through the intermediary of mobile apps. In his session at the 10th International Cloud Expo, Faraz Syed, President, Keynot...
OpenStack is becoming the most popular open source platform for building private and public clouds. The number of code commits and the engineering velocity of this project is matched by no other technology adoption in history. While OpenStack is merely two years old, there have been six production releases of it. Those who opted to deploy an OpenStack-based cloud a year ago are now likely running production workloads on a version of OpenStack that is three releases behind what they initially dep...

Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) has been a hot topic in the IT community for years but delivery models have limited its use. Today there are real options for using the technology to truly replace the existing desktop infrastructure to realize tangible benefits. Today’s cloud-sourced VDI offers the enterprise new opportunities for security, centralization, mobility, and business continuity while avoiding much of the upfront investment of traditional in-house deployments. Utilizing cloud-base...
For years, IT departments have organized their processes, employees, and business relationships around owning and operating the core IT assets in an enterprise. The current wave of cloud services can have a powerful effect on enterprise IT, with the potential for significant cost savings and operational efficiencies. To achieve these benefits, IT departments will have to integrate new ways of thinking about how IT resources are delivered. In his general session at the 10th International Cloud ...

There’s been much hype over benefits of the “Cloud” but it’s now becoming a game changer for smaller businesses. Previously, rendering movies, developing new drugs, or prototyping new designs required a large data center, buying numerous servers, storage/switches, and hiring an army of IT “ants” to manage the environment – reserved for larger/wealthier companies. In his session at the 10th International Cloud Expo, Scott Houston, Founder and CEO of GreenButton, will show how Cloudbursting help...
