As many Call of Duty fans are aware, a vast amount of rumors about Black Ops 2 surfaced online not too long ago. Since most of us were pretty skeptical about the whole thing, we wanted to know if IGN readers agreed. So we turned the voice over to the community a few weeks ago, and asked you folks to write a blog with your thoughts.

We want to thank all of the contributors who were involved with this feature, as we're always looking for more ways to include our community. Below you'll find a selection of some of the best entries that were submitted with excerpts from each. Keep up the great work, and let's keep this discussion going by posting your own thoughts in the comments section below.

"As a big fan of Black Ops, I'm pretty excited for the next entry in the series, however, if they don't make significant changes/improvements in developing Black Ops 2, I can easily see my interest waning." Read the full blog here.

"I'm sure a lot of people know what I'm talking about, these little set pieces happen during matches, leaving the players exposed to hazards that are controlled by the game itself. Gears 3's sandstorms, Uncharted 3's Chateau floor collapsing. I think it would be neat to add these types of things to Black Ops to give players more immersion, and a common enemy that everyone would share, be it a plane being shot down; crashing into the map, buildings completely collapsing covering nearby players screens in dust and debris, etc." Read the full blog here.

"Reduce the total number of actual weapons whilst maintaining the total number of weapon attachments. Give players 20 weapons that are all impressive in their own right and give each weapon up to 5 attachments for each weapon - thereby enabling gamers complete control and freedom of how they tackle each match." "The number-one most helpful thing that the makers of Call of Duty can do for their franchise is to make the multiplayer experience customizable to the nth degree. Perhaps the worst thing that a multiplayer shooter can do is shoehorn you into a single, uniform experience because, eventually, there is no option but for the gameplay to go stale." "It's time for a change. Call of Duty has looked the same since Call of Duty 4 with minor graphical updates. We need to look at something fresh now. Black Ops 2 will be the only Call of Duty going forward that I will accept that runs the same engine. Anything after than MUST change. There is no denying that there is an enormous outcry for this change." Read the full blog here.

"With every new iteration of Call of Duty, fans demand innovation and exciting new maps. The complexity of the maps has been steadily increasing since CoD4, and subsequently the focus has shifted away from gritty gunplay to other, less pure play styles. In the early days, fighting was concentrated, structured and allowed all play styles and all skill levels." Read the full blog here.

"Please, Treyarch, don't give us the same you did a year and a half ago. We know the Call of Duty franchise, now let's reboot it. We like Killstreaks, but reboot it. We love the running and gunning, but reboot it. I really think the original Black Ops has barely any differences, when compared to the first Modern Warfare. Except for Zombies of course." "WWII gave Call of Duty its success. This franchise was built upon that great theater of war. Why can't it go back? WWII was filled with black operations that would be rich for story telling. It is perfectly plausible to have a Black Ops game set in World War II. Especially after the ending of Black Ops, I'm not sure where Treyarch would go next." Read the full blog here.

"Black Ops 2 should focus on innovation as this is the gripe of even loyalists to the series. Whether it be a new engine or bunny in a clown suit, they need to innovate." Read the full blog here.

"Adding in more cut scenes, or in-game dialogue that isn't shouted over top of explosions and gunfire would go a long way towards giving players a reason to care about the conflict and the characters that inhabit it. Otherwise the campaign feels like a badass collection of crazy set pieces that is over entirely too soon." Read the full blog here.
