Epic has confirmed that its plans for a game called Gears of War: Exile have been cancelled.
Back in January 2011, the company trademarked the game-name Gears of War: Exile, along with a logo. At the same time, rumors were circulating of a motion-controlled on-rails Gears shooter for Kinect. Such a game never appeared.

Speaking on the matter, Epic's Cliff Bleszinski did not offer any details of the project. He said, "Let's just bury the hatchet now. Gears of War: Exile was an unannounced game that I can't give any details about that has since been cancelled."
