Showbiz 411 reports that producer Art Linson wrote the script and the film is "all set up and financed. ... And the next step is to convince Martin Scorsese to direct."

Scorsese and DeNiro made a comedian picture back in 1982 called The King of Comedy. Netflix it now if you've never seen it.
