Do you enjoy diarrhea, dildos and screaming? Are you looking for the perfect film to see while stoned, or a movie to see sober that will make you feel stoned? Is your favorite sound effect the "gooey sploosh?" Then the heavens have answered all of your prayers with Tim & Eric's Billion Dollar Movie. From the minds of, and starring, Tim Heidecker and Eric Wareheim (Tim and Eric Awesome Show, Great Job!, Old Spice commercials starring Terry Crews), this movie is hilariously vile, subversive and blissfully devoid of any deeper messaging.

And while some might consider it a challenge to endure Tim and Eric's particular brand of humor for 90 minutes, the movie acts as a love letter to any hardcore fan of perversely amateur industrial videos, lame local TV commercials or disturbing cable access talk shows. It's a marathon of awkward glances, painful edits, misspoken words and face-meting nightmare fuel. In Tim and Eric's magical world, just about everyone is a smiling, unassuming sociopath on the brink of utter madness. And I wouldn't have it any other way.

Along for the ride are some familiar repeat offenders from Tim and Eric's stable of recurring celebrities, such as Zach Galifianakis, Will Ferrell, Ray Wise and John C. Reilly. And with them comes the joy of seeing other, more recognizable actors and comedians participate in, and appreciate, the insanity. Whether it's Ray Wise unleashing the grotesque power of SHRIM! on Eric or Ferrell firing off a gun while screaming "TAQUITO!," these folks strangely legitimize the Tim and Eric-verse while making themselves cooler in the process.

But because this is an actual movie that's being released in theaters (and having managed a movie theater myself, I can already envision the "walkouts" in my head), there needs to be a long-form story, right? The very idea of that runs the risk of crimping Tim and Eric's style of disjointed, abrasive nonsense, but these two found a simple enough through-line that allowed them to touch upon all the usual things they like to play with. After going "Hollywood" and blowing a cool billion dollars on a three minute movie, Tim and Eric find themselves on the run from their ferocious financiers, the Schlaaang corporation. And thinking they've found a way to get their $1 billion back, Tim and Eric agree to revitalize the disease-ridden Swallow Valley mall, which specializes in selling swords, used toilet paper and dysentery.

The idea of these two running a mall winds up being a near-perfect vehicle for a movie due to the fact that the premise easily lends itself to some of the Tim and Eric staples: Dangerous products, cheap graphics, funny names, psychotic personalities and general grossness. On their tails however are Robert Loggia and the smarm-tastic William Atherton as soulless, suited Schlaaang execs looking to exact revenge on our heroes for wasting their money. And so if you've ever wanted to see Tim and Eric go toe-to-toe with a machine gun-toting Robert Loggia, once again your dreams have been made reality.

This movie will not create new Tim and Eric fans (or not many anyhow). If possible, they've gone even more insane than usual with this "hard R"-rated project. So as a business decision, to put Tim and Eric out there for the masses, it's questionable at best. This is a deranged film that's meant to service devotees of their cult. It's easy to say that this movie "isn't for everyone," but a more accurate description would be "it's hardly for anyone." But for those who do "get it," and relish this style of silly, wretched lunacy, the fumes of this film are pungent.
