It's been a busy few weeks for me here at IGN and just when I was about to play catch up and write up the news that Hornswoggle had been cast in the horror film Leprechaun: Origins and Randy Orton had been cast in the 3rd installment of the WWE's Marine franchise, Randy gets controversially pulled from the project.

Who Won at WrestleMania XXVIII?

Apparently, just days after Orton himself announced that he'd be starring in the film on Twitter (and after I saw the Marine poster with him in it at WWE Fan Axxess this past weekend), TMZ is reporting that Randy Orton's old bad boys ways caught up with him as several Devil Dogs became outraged over the casting of Orton in the movie - citing that he deserted them during his brief stint in the USMC.

Orton was apparently discharged from the USMC in 1999 for bad behavior and for going AWOL twice. He was court-martialed and actually served 38 days in a military prison. A rep from the WWE told TMZ that "WWE demonstrated poor judgment in signing Randy Orton for the 3rd installment of the film" and that "Despite Randy's popularity, the fact that he was dishonorably discharged from the USMC made it inappropriate for him to be cast in this film."
