Deadline is reporting that Josh Lucas (Sweet Home Alabama, Hulk) has been cast as Mitch McDeere, a role made famous by Tom Cruise in the 1993 movie, in NBC's mid-season drama The Firm.
The series acts somewhat as a sequel to the Sydney Pollack film, based on the best-selling John Grisham novel, picking up the story 10 years later with Mitch and his family re-entering society after spending a decade in the Federal Witness Protection program due to him bringing down the prestigious Memphis law firm of Bendini, Lambert & Locke (remember the movie?). Of course, there are still dangers lurking everywhere for the McDeeres.
