The PlayStation 3 first launched with Sony's Sixaxis controller, featuring a built-in accelerometer in place of rumble motors. The Sixaxis controller was later replaced with the Sony DualShock 3 controller, which retained the Sixaxis motion sensors and added rumble motors.
The PlayStation 3 controller retains the signature design that Sony used with the previous PlayStation consoles.
