The increasingly common practice of US networks remaking UK TV programmes shows no sign of abating, with news that Only Fools and Horses is set to cross the Atlantic.
According to Chortle, ABC has ordered a pilot of the hugely popular show, which detailed the mishaps of brothers Derek and Rodney Trotter as they ducked and dived their way around Peckham market.

- BBC
Nicholas Lyndhurst, David Jason and Lennard Pearce as Rodney, Del and Grandad.
Steven Cragg and Brian Bradley - who have previously written for Scrubs - will pen the script, with the plot remaining much the same, revolving around "the misadventures of two streetwise brothers and their aging grandfather as they concoct outrageous, morally questionable get-rich-quick schemes in a bid to become millionaires."
No word yet on a cast, but Chortle quotes Steve Carell as expressing an interest in playing Del Boy back in 2010, stating "That is my dream role… The British do sitcoms better than anybody else in the world. I think with the right scriptwriters and cast we could do Only Fools and Horses justice. If anybody wants to help me do a remake I'd love it."
So do you think Carell is right and that America could do the Trotters proud, or should they simply leave Britain's best loved comedy show alone? As ever, chime in with your thoughts below…
