ABC Pulls Work It From Schedule

Our long national nightmare is over. Well, okay, Work It only aired twice, but we had to deal with the horrific knowledge of its existence since last May, when ABC baffled us all by picking up the series. But now, the network has announced they are pulling the series, effective immediately.

In its place, for the remainder of the month at least, ABC will air repeats of Last Man Standing, the show already airing right before Work It on Tuesdays. That's obviously a temporary solution though, and the big question is whether this hole in ABC's schedule will allow Cougar Town to finally return to the air, as that series still has a vague "Midseason" return.

Work It was critically reviled of course, but its debut ratings were actually okay, all things considered. Its second episode did have a notable drop, and it wasn't difficult to predict it would continue to drop. However, just the other day at the TCA (Television Critics Association) press tour, ABC president Paul Lee was touting a wait and see attitude about the show. However, he and the network clearly changed their mind, choosing to not even air the third episode before yanking the show. And you know what? I'm cool with that...

While we hopefully will never have to see Work It again, I do recommend you check out Matt Fowler's IGN review of Work It - It's far more entertaining than the series itself.
