With all of the emphasis on Skyrim, it is easy for other great Bethesda titles to go overlooked. Fallout: New Vegas is a title that has been lost in the dragonborn clamor. In this week’s blog, I seek to showcase several mods that will hopefully tempt you into revisiting New Vegas!
Warhammer 40k Conversion by DarkWolfV It is no secret that I am a huge fan of the Warhammer universe. Be it fantasy, or 40k you had better believe that my greenskins will “WAAAGH!” you to death. You had better believe that when I saw a 40k-inspired makeover for New Vegas, I pretty much peed myself. With this mod, normal NPCs become Imperial Guard while more “elite” NPCs become members from various chapters of the Space Marines. If you like 40k at all, you should DEFINITELY download and install this mod! If only GW and Bethesda would collaborate to create RPGs in the Warhammer worlds…a girl can dream, right?

Sun Valley by OPPxReDeMtloNx The Sun Valley mod is a completely new story campaign and a new world for Fallout: New Vegas. In this mod, an injured NCR trooper requests aid from your character. Throughout the campaign, you are given the choice to help either the NCR or the Legion. With high-quality storytelling, Sun Valley has become very popular. Check out this very highly rated mod for yourself!

Chryslus Corvega by Vuzi Does fast travel kill your immersion? Do not fret, for I have just the mod for you! This mod takes away your ability to fast travel out of the blue and adds a quest in which you obtain a jalopy similar to the one in Fallout 2. In order to travel, you will have to keep your car fueled up. This mod makes for more challenging travel, but has options for customization of your car and a ton of extras. With this mod, the increased difficulty pays in dividends.

JoO’s Armory by JackoO JoO’s Armory is a straight-forward mod – no extra work, just a bunch of cool items in a chest Doc Mitchel’s house. The mod includes new and more modern-looking combat armor, new helmets, new skins, and a slew of other retextured items. If want some great-looking additions to the game without having to travel to the ends of New Vegas to find them, this may be the mod for you.

Fallout Shelter by Ogachi This mod provides your character with living quarters that are very much in the spirit of a post-apocalyptic wasteland. Based off of a mod Ogachi created for Fallout 3, this improved shelter includes beds, a living space, a bathroom, a kitchen and dining room, and is companion friendly! If you and your companion have been seeking a nuke-safe home in either Goodsprings or Boulder City, give this mod a try!
