Tanit Phoenix is IGN Babeology's 2011 Babe of the Year

2011 was a wonderful year for many reasons, but if you're a fan of Babeology, you'll know that it was the year of Tanit Phoenix. The South African model/actress made her first appearance in front of the Babeology cameras back in January, and she stole our collective hearts (we're including you in this, dear readers). And here we are, eleven months later, and Tanit is our first ever Babeology Babe of the Year.

For this amazing finale, I shot my favorite photos of Tanit yet (scroll down to see them all). For an extra treat, we enlisted cinematographer Selim Mete, who shot and cut a dreamy, ethereal video exploration of Tanit at home. If you're wondering about the awesome song that accompanies it, it's called 'L'exil' by the French band Felipecha, and it's available on iTunes. Watch the video below:

This year was a busy one for our new friend (er... crush), as she appeared in Death Race 2 as the hottest gearhead inmate a prison has ever known.


After getting motors running in Death Race 2, she heated things up in the late night Cinemax show Femme Fatales, where she played Lilith, introducing each of the vignettes in this bloody, sexy anthology series, like Rod Serling if Rod Serling was a supermodel.


Next up, she acted alongside the likes of Denzel Washington in 2012's upcoming Safe House. And she just wrapped shooting on yet another installment of Death Race on her home turf, South Africa.


She has graced the covers of FHM, Maxim, GQ and Cosmo around the world. In between it all, Tanit found time to keep visiting us at IGN, appearing five times on Babeology over the course of the year. We were beyond thrilled to have her, and you were, too... making her the most popular girl we've ever shot.

And that brings us full circle... Here she is one last time to close out 2011 with a victory lap. The most beautiful victory lap in history.
