Mass Effect 3's Ending An Elaborate Stunt?March 23, 2012 by

WARNING! MAY CONTAIN SPOILERS FOR MASS EFFECT 3

The internet is going apeshit about the ending of Mass Effect 3. The fans are in an uproar. Insults are being exchanged. And tables are being flipped.

Among this uproar they are different sides. The people who are angry about the endings or lack of, the people who and angry at the people who are angry (which honestly seems larger the the people who hate the ending) and the people who are skeptical about the intentions of EA and Bioware. I for one, is skeptical about the intentions for the ending of Bioware's Trilogy.

Here me out here before you go and rant about my assumptions in the comments section as my points, whether true or not, is still a valid speculation. Think about it, Bioware went off its path of letting the player's choices in the trilogy affect their gameplay and ultimately their ending to cause an uproar. And the only place where the people who will go to express their anger is on the forums, Youtube and all over the internet. More people will get aware about the game as it's such a big topic on the internety. It's like making the fans advertise the game for them. These people who have never played or heard (this one is very unlikely) will get curious about the game and will go and look at it's endings.

Mass Effect 3 Ending Trend On Google

I bet there is one guy in a suit and tie behind a computer monitor smiling as he looks at this.

Now that they saw the ending s for Mass Effect 3, they would see the review on sites like IGN and stuff. And while looking at the forums, they are bound to find someone saying something like "Mass Effect 1 was great and Mass Effect 2 was fantastic because we got to make choices that would affect our game and it end up being useless in Mass Effect 3". This would make the people curious about the game and would get Mass Effect 1 and 2 since they we're considered better than Mass Effect 3. And after playing both games a couple of times, they would end up getting Mass Effect 3 because they would get hooked by the story and would like to know the journey of their Shepard before reaching the end. They would also probably get all the story based DLCs so that they can experience the most of their run. This mean that EA would be getting lots of cash from this stunt of theirs without spending any on advertising.

DOSH DOSH DOSH

And now Bioware is creating a DLC from the feedback which they "heard" from the fans. If I'm not mistaken, IGN's Daily Fixs said that it'l, only extend the current ending scence. And I honestly doubt that it'll be free either as EA can see that there are fans who want a new DLC to change the ending and if they can get money from it, they most probably will. But I honestly hope that EA and Bioware doesn't resort to that as it will make them lost the trust of their fans, which is getting declining due to ME3's ending, and hopefully they see it as a chance to redeem themselves and gain back the trust from their fans.

I was actually gonna say alot more but I kinda forgot what I was gonna say. So I'll leave it as such for now.

Bitch Please

So I hope that you enjoyed reading my speculation on what EA and Bioware is doing and sound off in the comments on what you think about Bioware and EA? Do you still trust them or you lost hope in one of them? GO GO GO! TO THE COMMENTS!

My thoughts on Z0MB1ES (on teh ph0ne) among other things.January 24, 2012 by

I'm sorry that I didn't post a continuation post for the previous blog post as my crap-tastic laptop messed up and the uber long post I made was lost as I didn't save it. And I also felt that it was such a drag for me to re-do the whole blog post again.

So I have came to acquire the game Z0MB1ES (on teh ph0ne) on my Samsung Omnia 7 (which is a Windows Phone 7 if you don't know). I got the game as it was a mobile version of the hit indie xbox game I MAED A GAM3 W1TH Z0MBIES 1N IT!!!1 and was a Xbox game on the Windows Phone 7. The mobile version of the game came with 3 modes to play, I MAED A GAM3 W1TH Z0MBIES 1N IT!!!1, Time Viking and Endless Zombies. The game being a twin stick shooter came with very simple instuctions.

It's a twin stick shooter!

Kill everything and don't die!

Move with your left thumb.

Kill with your right thumb!

Powerups are great!

These instructions are all you need to know to play the game and I like it that way. Simple controls. Easy to play. Hard to master. I really adore games that do that and keep the game addictive as some games have too many different controls and complex ones too, a good example is Red Orchestra 2. The problem I had with it was that I couldn't remember all the controls and would end up not playing the game properly and not enjoy it. (I personally don't own the game but tried it at a friend's place). A good game with simple controls and all the other mumbo jumbo I said would have to be Super Meat Boy. It's just running, sprinting and jumping but yet its hard to master too which makes it so addictive.

This guy makes it look easy. Trust me, it isn't.

Now back to my thoughts on Z0MB1ES (on teh phone). I can say it has an interesting soundtrack. The I MAED A GAM3 W1TH Z0MBIES 1N IT!!!1 and Time Viking gametypes both get more difficult the longer you play and it has a song that plays with it that lets you know if there will be more enemies (the song gets faster) or there isn't any enemies but just floating asteroids (the song is slow) but after playing the game for hours, I never got tired of the soundtrack but enjoy it even more.

Then there is the Endless Z0MB1ES mode. Its like an arcade game. You kill all the monsters in one room and get to the next room and survive as longs a you can. It's fun to play on long trips as it doesn't end and is easier that the other two gametypes in my opinion.

Before I got my Windows Phone, I was an iPhone guy and I played a game called Minigore which is another twin stick shooters which I played the heck out of it but is nothing compared to Z0MB1ES (on teh phone) in my opinion.

Now on to other stuff.

I'm not sure if I'm the only person who has this problem but the IGN app on the Windows Phone 7 keeps on showing the November 23 2011 daily fix over and over again. It doesn't update to the next daily fix episodes which is frustrating as I have to get over to Youtube and watch it when I'm on the go. And the app should get Mango features such as fast-app switching so that you can get back to the app and resume from where you left off instead of restarting the whole app. And as MyIGN is no longer in beta and has been out for quite a while, they should let you check your newsfeed, look, respond and make posts. Maybe allow users to read other people's blog on their devices too.

And in other news, I heard a rumor that Microsoft may stop using it's virtual currency, Microsoft Points. I feel that they shouldn't. It allows people without credit cards to buy things on the Xbox Live marketplace, Games for Windows Live marketplace, Windows Live Gallery and Zune online stores. The problem with it is that the price of Microsoft Points are not uniform throughout the world. Some countries may have to pay more for the same amount of points than other places. And I feel that they should also allow the use of Microsoft points to buy Xbox Live games on the Windows Phone 7 marketplace.

And I also don't get why some applications are more expensive in other regions. They should have the same same market place throughout and not split it into regions. I don't think there would be any problems cause if someone from China goes and download The Bank Of America app that would affect sales or something.

I actually was going to say much more but I forgot what I was going to talk about. So here's some words of wisdom from me to sign off.

Titty Sprinkles.

Back from hiatus my fellow sexy people... Part 1December 5, 2011 by

Its been such a long time since I made a blog post on MyIGN. After my friends started following me ( Kael555 and Gonarhxus ) then I realised that I hadn't updated this blog. So now we got that out of the way, its time to talk about some games! I have aquired quite a number of games on my Xbox 360, Batman: Arkham City, Battlefield 3, Dark Souls, Forza Motorsports 4, Skyrim and ( a title that I got when it first came out ) Gears Of War 3.

Batman: Arkham City is the sequel to Rocksteady's 2009 Game Of The Year, Batman: Arkham Asylum. I was actually pretty excited about this game as I loved the first one. The games had a fantastic storyline, captures the personality of the character and lots of intersting facts on the characters too. The Riddler's riddles and trophies made the game more intersting as if requires you to think alot. In Batman: Arkham City, the main story took only about 30% of the total game ( It was around there when I checked the stats) which isnt too bad considering the vast amount of characters you see and the different enviroments. There were also side quests which may pop up anytime like a public phone ringing which you need to find or a political prisoner being attacked. The combat was made much better ( surprised me as the combat system for the first one was excellent ) and now you can play as Catwoman whose combat style is different from Batman's and you can feel the actual difference. The Riddler's Riddles are harder to to solve now and the Riddler Trophies are harder to find ( Thank god for their new trophy  tagging system ) and are harder to get, which really captures Riddler's personality but some times it can get really irritating but it also puts you into Batman's shoes as he has to go through with this everytime with the Riddler. Overall, I would give this game a 9.5/10.

Now its time for a big FPS franchise, Battlefield 3. The game looks fantastic but it has lost some really good features from Battlefield: Bad Company 2. The game's campaign wasn't really that fantastic, the story is not that gripping and it doesnt really have the same experience as the game's multiplayer, which is fantastic, but I am not surprised as the campaign was not supposed to be a Hollywood-Michael-Bay-Style action movie. It was supposed to be realistic which is probably why they couldnt really have that "Michael Bay Experience". The multiplayer was fantastic. It kept the elements of the importance of teamwork inside it and I didnt have much problems with it. Battlefield 3 came together with Battleblog which is like a Facebook for Battlefield 3 (Something like COD Elite, but free). They left out useful things from the games like which team your on (Attacking or defending) on Rush or the Google Maps style maps which they had for Battlefield: Bad Company 2, where you can make attack plans, routes with your friends and they also did not put in a table of stats for your weapons like it's accuracy, firing rate and other information, in the game itself and only had it in the Battlelog but Dice is asking the players, in their forums, on what can be added or should be fixed for Battlefield which means that should be able to see this addition being made in no time. And one more thing that they also should add is a Battlelog App for the three major phone operating systems, Android, Apple (which already has a Battlelog App) and Windows Phone 7. Overall I would give this game a 9/10 as more could be done but hasn't been done yet.

This blog post is going to be very long so I'm gonna split it up into smaller parts which I'll post later.

Viva Piñata Crazy!!!April 7, 2011 by

So I've fallen sick after my band competition (which we won a Silver, thank you) and have officially been called off duty as the Percussion Section Leader for my examinations. While in my drowsy, lifeless state, I manage to get the strength to pick my Xbox 360 controller and placed in a game that would bring me into a colorful, bright world, filled with confetti and candy called Viva Piñata. The one I'm playing would be the latest one called Viva Piñata: Trouble In Paradise.

So if you don't know or remember the story, I'll break it down for you. You are now back in your garden to gather Piñatas, romance them, change their color, fill them up with candy and shoot them off into a party in some other part of the world. But now, Professor Pester and his Ruffian minions wiped out the entire Piñata Central computer records when attempting to steal information that would give him the power to rule Piñata Island and stop the delivery of Piñatas and preventing candy filled fun from reaching the rest of the world. So now you are needed to help Pinata Central gain back all the information lost by getting the Piñatas to inhabit in your garden so you can gain information about them(romancing, colours, Wildcards)  and fill them with candy and ship them off saving the entire partying world.

Sounds silly? Maybe. Is it fun? Yes. Why else would I be blogging about it then? So I entered my old garden which I started not too long ago and started romancing all my tiny Piñatas and changing sours to become my own. The freakiest Wildcard I curently have is the Second Wildcard version (where you romance two of the same first Wildcards)

The tiny one is the one in talking about. With the spots on it's wings

The tiny one is the one I'm talking about

Well in the picture above it looks cute. I'll try to put in pictures of it when it grows up and you'll see what I'm talking about. I actually thought it was sick but then I realized that it wasn't panting like a sick Piñata would. So I went on gardening.

So I guess that would be enough Piñatas for any sane human being to handle for one day so I'll go on about other matters.

I feel that most first person shooters (A.K.A FPS) now is losing it's feeling of fun. Call of Duty is the first of many shooters out there now that is losing it's touch. I felt that it was the same old call of duty with some tiny extra bits added. Kill an everlasting waves of enemies and move forward. Black Ops multiplayer bored me the quickest (Don't go flaming me just yet) but it had a fantastic story and zombies are pretty alright so we can all say that Treyach makes the best COD singleplayer. I feel that Modern Warfare 2 has the best multiplayer in COD but its lacking the fun in its campaign as people expected it to happen but Black Ops gives you the feel of uncertainty especially at the end, it really shocks you so good job to Infinity Ward for making COD's awesome multiplayer.

Medal Of Honor is another game thats losing it's touch. The first Medal Of Honor, Medal Of Honor Allied Assault (MOHAA) was seriously fun but after that, It began to lose it's touch. The latest Medal Of Honor had a pretty good campaign and a not too bad multiplayer) but it is so repetitive. And people usually get bored of repetitive games real quick.

I say that one of the Halo was one who manage to break the repetitiveness. Halo 3 broke a barrier in gaming. Its called Forge. You can build so many things in Forge and there are so many gameptypes to make and the ability to take video and pictures make it even better as you can take funny or awesome things that happened to you during singleplayer and multiplayer. They made it even better in Halo: Reach.

Thats me on the left.

The only difference in Halo 3 and Halo: Reach is that in Halo 3, there was a sense of uncertainty of whats going to happen next but in Halo: Reach, everyone knows what is going to happen in the end of the game.

Okay, I was going to show you guys a funny picture which I took with my own camera while playing Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare of a marine, dead, squished by a hood of a hard at his balls but it seems that I have lost my camera. And did you ever noticed that Call Of Duty: Black Ops is trying to copy Theater mode from Halo? You cam make your own gametypes in Black Ops too but it kinda sucks. It isn't as good as Halo's.

Now time to talk about the Windows Phone 7. I am currently using the Samsung Omnia 7. The phone is not too bad but more can be done to make it better. The applications on it's market place seems a little too expensive. The social apps like Facebook and Twitter doesn't  have as much functionality as the iPhone's version but its a relatively new phone so I expect that Microsoft and the application creators will fix the bugs sooner or later. I am not too sure but I don't think if you got a Windows Phone version of and Xbox Live Arcade game, you would need to buy it on both the phone and Xbox to play them as you know the Windows Phone has the ability to continue your games even if you are away from your Xbox. A good game to put on the Windows Phone would be Plant Vs. Zombie with the co-op (phone to phone) and everything else that is available on the Xbox version.

So this is the end of my blog for today, try not to cry but I will post another one soon. I would usually post something if I feel that there is a point I would like to make. And my Mid Years are coming up so you may not see me blog for a while but rest assured I will be back. And maybe if I got some time, I'll make a header for my blog for each blog I post.

First postApril 5, 2011 by

Hey all. Making my first post on this IGN blog thingy. Thought it would be good to express my feelings towards the games I play and how it should be made better. Maybe even give it a rating. I wonder if its appropriate to talk about updates for the Windows Phone 7 here and how Microsoft can make it better. Well its me blog so I guess you people got no say.

So first things first. I've been playing Crysis 2 for quite sometime now. Finished the campaign (which has a nice but not a fantastic story) and I have experiencing one glitch. Halfway when I'm playing , my weapons just disappear. I which the Crytek would have given Crysis 2 the chance 2 use hands only as a weapon. I mean, who doesn't want to be up extraterrestrial beings with their own hands. I know I would. But this doesn't mean that the game sucks. It is very good. In matter of game play. The ability to use multiple armor abilities is way more convenient that the first Crysis, where you need to keep on changing armor which is such a big hassle. And that you can choose how you would want to fight in the game. Whether is it that you rather be stealthy and go past enemies or go Rambo style and kill everybody, there is always an option for you to decide.

Been playing Mass Effect 2 lately and I seriously love that game series. Its is a must buy for every Xbox 360 owner out there. It has a fantastic story, game play and graphics. I don't want to spoil anything for you people about the story but yes, it is awesome. The game play is fantastic. I love the actions has consequences idea everywhere throughout the game. And that your character can be transferred to the next game (which is Mass Effect 3) and that the way you play will affect it. So if you play Mass Effect 1 and 2 with the same character, you can have over 1000 variations of outcomes in Mass Effect 3. So you can expect different game play experiences each time you start a new game in Mass Effect 2, if you decided to take a different path in the game.

Now time to talk about Windows Phone 7 stuff. Internet Explorer for Windows Phone 7 is fantastic. Applications need to be updated regularly to make it better. The Facebook application doesn't even have Facebook chat on it. The notifications on Twitter should be like kept there and stuff and not need to keep on updating. The tweets shown the last time before you close the application should be shown there and you should start reading from where you left as I find it very annoying to keep on scrolling down the page to get to the load break. Scrolling needs to be smooth too. And I should be able to view pictures/ copy and paste them from my phone to be able to send to other people or whatever you people do. And pictures on Facebook should not need to load each time you get to it. At most, it should only take time to focus when you look at the picture for the second time. The game on Xbox Live are the best but they are also the most expensive one too. Which is quite a pity.

I guess IGN should put my IGN on the Windows Phone 7 Application. We should be able to make posts on what game we are playing, blogs and all the other stuff too.

Well I guess this is it for my first post on the IGN blog. See you people in my next post. Which should be next week hopefully.
