The Old Republic Patch Introduces Problem
Ilum spawn-point camped non-stop since patch.

Update: Gabe Amatangelo, the Lead Designer for PvP (as well as Operations and Flashpoints) has addressed the issue in a forum post. A hotfix is on the way. Turrets apparently give no honor, and corpse campers might face repercussions. Hooray! Original story below.
The first content patch for Star Wars: The Old Republic hit servers today, bringing a chunk of new content, and along with it, a massive problem for max-level players.
One of the parts of The Old Republic the patch touches upon is the open-world PvP planet Ilum. Originally, Ilum's structure resulted in the two sides cooperating for rewards instead of killing each other. Behold what has occurred:
It is worth noting that only enemies have their names in red. The issue, it seems, stems from the fact that turrets around each faction's spawn-point award large amounts of Valor (basically experience for PvP). They also respawn instantly. When you mix instant respawns and large rewards, people are going to stand there and get their fill. Putting those things directly on top of a faction spawn-point is a really good way to break a player's will to ever play again ever.
Players on the official forums are calling for Valor rollbacks, and making respawn areas inaccessible by enemy factions seems like a no-brainer.
What do you think of the situation? Are you enjoying the free Valor or having your face torn off by hundreds of Empire players? Let us know below.
