It's rare when a game's sheer beauty and elegance has the power to hook me from the very moment I start playing. Toren's story-driven puzzle adventure follows the tale of a young girl trapped inside a crumbled tower guarded by the doom-inducing gaze of a horrific monster who watches from afar. But it's far more than that. Read More »

Paradox Announces A Game of Dwarves

By Dan Stapleton | PC News | Jan 19, 2012 7:14 AM | Comment

Swedish publisher Paradox has just announced A Game of Dwarves, described as "a classic management game with a fantasy twist," for release sometime in 2012. While there's no sign of Tyrion Lannister, GoD looks like it could be pretty entertaining -- it resembles a cartoony, less-evil version of Dungeon Keeper in which you guide a crew of half-pint miners to dig a really deep hole. Somewhere down there lurks an evil wizard who doesn't much like being disturbed. Check out the screenshots below. Read More »

Dustforce Review

By Nathan Grayson | PC Reviews | Jan 18, 2012 3:00 PM | Comment

I don't like repeating myself. Games that barrage me with tedious trial-and-error usually end up on the wrong end of the woodchipper. So Dustforce legitimately shocked me when I realized that -- while leaping, dashing, and sliding my way through my 20th or so playthrough of the same level -- I wasn't swearing up a storm. This is a fast-paced 2D platformer that absolutely demands perfection, but it's also something similarly demanding indie hop 'n' bops like Super Meat Boy are not: oddly relaxing. Read More »

By Scott Sharkey | PC Articles | Jan 18, 2012 1:00 PM | Comment

It's been just about two months since Minecraft hit its 1.0 release, but that milestone is still far from "final." The game just saw its first major update since then, full of stuff like cleaned up biome boundaries, enchanted bows, and chuckable eggs that spawn critters. But if that's not enough to keep you entertained then there's always a great big pile of mods out there to toy around with. Read More »
