Kirby Right Back at Ya! on Nintendo 3DS?! (New Game Coming?!!!)January 17, 2012 by

Peeking around the Nintendo Video app, I wasn't expecting much to appeal to me, until I saw a familiar video game character that's very cute. It was of course Kirby, so I had to watch it (and man does it look good). Nintendo has made a two part special based on the famous cartoon TV show "Kirby Right Back at Ya!" exclusive to Nintendo Video viewers.

The video has many of the characters you remember from the show, but redone with modern quality graphics that look incredible in 3D. It is hands down the best video shown on the media app yet. Watch it now on your 3DS if you haven't had the chance to see it yet. The content won't appeal to everyone, but as a major Kirby fan it satisfied my senses and made me think of what Kirby games could be like in the future. For people who don't have a 3DS, I recorded it so you could see it too.

Part 1 is up now, but it will be taken down soon for the Part 2 to takes its place on the menu. Even if you don't like the video, wouldn't this make for an amazing game on the Nintendo 3DS or even Wii U. There's so much potential for an 3D action adventure game for Kirby. I know I'm not the only one who has thought about it, and I hope its coming. This is one of two possible clues Nintendo has given for a future title. The first was in the Streetpass Plaza app, where a 3D Kirby puzzle piece can be unlocked, that again, looks fantastic.

AWW, so cute!!!

Now I'm no Nintendo executive, so all that I'm predicting could be false, and probably is. But wouldn't you like a 3D action Kirby game for Nintendo 3DS? Comment Below. Even if there is no Kirby game like this coming, I would still like more Nintendo animated content available for Nintendo Video to be released.

I hope you enjoyed my look into the possible future. Until my next blog, see ya!

Game Of The Year Nominations...Part 4 & ReviewsJanuary 7, 2012 by

This is the last part of the quick coverage of games I played this year. Today, I'll be covering the last games I bought this year: Kirby's Return To Dreamland, Super Mario 3D Land, Metroid: Other M and Mario Kart 7. To check out the last blogs about the games I played earlier in the year, click the links below:

Part 1 (Kirby's Epic Yarn, Pokepark Wii: Pikachu's Adventure, New Super Mario Bros. Wii, Super Smash Bros Brawl, Super Mario Sunshine)  http://www.ign.com/blogs/iceflower4me/2011/12/19/game-of-the-year-nominations-part-1/

Part 2 (Pokemon Black & White, Okamiden, Super Street Fighter IV, Super Monkey Ball 3D)  http://www.ign.com/blogs/iceflower4me/2011/12/21/game-of-the-year-nominations-part-2/

Part 3 (Legend Of Zelda: Ocarina Of Time 3D, Super Mario Galaxy, Aura Aura Climber, Kirby Mass Attack)  http://www.ign.com/blogs/iceflower4me/2011/12/23/game-of-the-year-nominations-part-3/

Alright let's get to the games! (Hint: They are all good! ^-^)

Kirby's Return To Dreamland

One of the only possible good titles to arrive on the Wii in 2011, Kirby's Return To Dreamland was unfortunately absent on many gamer's wishlist's. It was an obvious must buy for me because I absolutely love the Kirby franchise. This game brought everything you would want in a new Kirby game. New power ups? Check. New Bosses? Check? Content for the Hardcore? Check. The list goes on. What really revved up the experience was the Multiplayer and Super abilities, which made the game feel fresh and really fun. This game of course has its issues. It didn't do so well in Presentation, and the first four Worlds are easy, but I still enjoyed the game otherwise. Final Score: 8

Super Mario 3D Land

This was hands down my most anticipated game of the year. You know why? Because its Mario, and I knew he would deliver an experience that I would never forget. Guess what? I was right. Nintendo proved they could make a 3D Mario game that fitted a portable. For the first time, I really felt like 3D matters in video games. This is a Mario game for everyone. This is how Mario was supposed to be imagined in 3D environments in the first place. Yeah, the first eight worlds aren't much of a challenge, but its amazing how Nintendo even considered other audiences that would be playing. If you haven't played this game yet, you really are missing out on one of the best gaming achievements of this generation. Final Score: 9.5

Metroid: Other M

This game got quite the controversy when it came out in 2010, but its definitely not a bad game. The story wasn't for everyone, and the gameplay involved new 2.5D graphics with auto aiming. I'm well into the game, but I actually haven't finished it yet. I can't quite grade on the story, but I did enjoy solving puzzles and battling epic bosses. There were some points when I had no clue what to do, bringing down the enjoyment. This is a great game, but probably nothing compared to the legacy of past Metroid titles. Final Score: 8

Mario Kart 7

Mario Kart 7 wasn't quite on my radar as much as Super Mario 3D Land, but I knew I would eventually get it and totally be satisfied. I did get this game on launch day, and it still is currently the game I have been playing the most. If you had to pick the game that would last you the longest on the 3DS, this would be it. Several solid improvements were made that really make it feel different from past games. Its sad that they didn't provide any new modes and only three new items, but they put lots of effort into item distribution and effects, making the more experienced, much more likely to win. The 3D wasn't to my taste, but the graphics ran well, even online. Its time to addicted to Mario Kart again. My Score: 9

That wraps it up. I did also get Uncharted and Mass Effect this year, and I do plan to get Zelda: Skyward Sword, but those games I'll be playing mostly in 2012, so they will be part of my Game of The Year for 2012. Sorry that I uploaded this late, I wanted to make video reviews of the titles above first before doing this blog. Did you agree with my opinion? Which of these games have you not played, and why? What was your game of the year of 2011. Look forward to my next blog where I present my top 5 games of the year. Until then, check out the reviews I made of Kirby's Return To Dreamland, Super Mario 3D Land, and Mario Kart 7.

Help Me!!! What Game Should I Get?December 25, 2011 by

The time has finally come. I'm getting a PS3. Yeah, I know, took long enough, but now I'm left with the hard choice of what game I should purchase. I'm going to get more PS3 titles later on, but now I have enough money to get just one game. I'm interested in all genre's, and I have many games on my mind to play, but I'm not sure which one to get, and when I choose, if I should go with the first in the series, or buy the most recent release.

Here is a list (Not full list) of games I'm interested in playing. Tell me your thoughts below and if it hurts the experience if I don't play the first game in the series. If there is a game I didn't mention below that you think I should experience, PLEASE tell me in the comments section below. Thanks for your input!

Uncharted 3

Final Fantasy 13

Heavy Rain

Mass Effect 2

Mirror's Edge

Rachet & Clank: A Crack in Time

Infamous 2

Assassins Creed

Little Big Planet 2

Batman: Arkham City

The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim

Game Of The Year Nominations...Part 3December 23, 2011 by

Time for me to tell you my thoughts on the next four games I played this year (LoZ: Ocarina of Time 3D, Aura Aura Climber, Super Mario Galaxy, Kirby Mass Attack). If you missed the past couple blogs click the link below:

Part 1: (Kirby's Epic Yarn, Pokepark Wii: Pikachu's Adventure, New Super Mario Bros Wii, Super Smash Bros Brawl, Super Mario Sunshine)

http://www.ign.com/blogs/iceflower4me/2011/12/19/game-of-the-year-nominations-part-1/

Part 2: (Pokemon Black & White, Okamiden, Super Street Fighter IV: 3D Edition, Super Monkey Ball 3D)

http://www.ign.com/blogs/iceflower4me/2011/12/21/game-of-the-year-nominations-part-2/

Alright enough links. Let's get started with the real link!

The Legend Of Zelda: Ocarina Of Time 3D

I never had the opportunity to play this when it originally came out, so I was thrilled to play the "best game ever made". Curse at me later, but this is actually the first Zelda game I ever played. Now, I plan to get into all the other games in the series. This game gave me a feeling no other game has. It has that classic feel that is unmatched. You could notice some of the aging graphics, but the majority was redone beautifully and looks even better in 3D. The creativity is so extraordinary, I always found myself surprised at every step of the adventure. However, there were some moments when I thought there weren't enough clues to figure out some puzzles, and I feel like an idiot when I have to rely on the stones or the internet to figure them out. Also, I know there was limited technology at the time, but I thought the camera didn't work the best during boss fights. Other than that, I understand now why this game has so much respect. My Score: 9.5

Aura Aura Climber

The first and only downloadable title I played this year, Aura Aura Climber introduces a fun concept that should continue as a franchise. It's a cute, colorful game with simple, but fun gameplay. For a two dollar download you get about your money's worth, but I want more levels come out in the future. This has the potential to be another core Nintendo series. My Score: 8

Super Mario Galaxy

I played Super Mario Galaxy 2 last year and it still stands today as the best video game I have ever played. When I heard Super Mario Galaxy was added to Nintendo Classics, I had to get it, and it didn't disappoint. I loved the many different amazing landscapes that presented the masterful level design. Mario was still very easy to control and camera work was almost always correct. Music and Graphics are breathtaking and I still get that incredible feel of accomplishment when I grab that power star. No wonder why this game won several Game of The Year awards. It totally deserves it. My Score: 9.5

Kirby Mass Attack

A great way to end the Nintendo DS cycle with a bang. Kirby Mass Attack is a game that can be enjoyed by anyone, and couldn't have been done on any other device. The short, creative levels make it perfect for on the go gaming. It has bright, sharp, 2D sprite art with very catchy tunes and addictive mini-games. Other than that gameplay gets sometimes awkward when the Kirby's are huddled to the right of the touch screen, this game has no flaws, and will be one of the most unique games you play this year. My Score: 9

That wraps up Part 3 of my Game of the Year nominations. Did you get the chance to play these great games? If you didn't, they should definitely be on your gaming wishlist. What is your game of the year? Comment below. Look forward to the final part of my Game of the Year nominations. Until then, see ya!
